Pre-Attack Preparations The strategy requires three columns of approximately equal strength, each with its own captain. The first column should be skirmishers, and all should have a ranged weapon for the third phase, and arcane support would be highly recommended. The second and third column will require a great deal of support from healers, as well as a sturdy line of frontline warriors, as they will be holding positions for two out of three stages.
Initial Stage There are four primary kobold emplacements, marked as green triangles. Additionally, a small detachment of marksmen guard the border between the Canal Ward and the Lower Main. The second and third columns will advance and dispatch of this light emplacement, so that the first phase can begin. Just behind them, the first column and the field commander will enter the Canal Ward and make their way to their positions as hastily as possible.
-----------------------------
Phase 1 The first column will strike from the small landbridge that attaches what is otherwise and island to the Canal Ward. Their strike should be as swift and efficient as possible to minimize the pressures on the second and third columns.
The second column will take up a defensive position at the bridge, though ranged attacks should be expected and fire should be returned. The bridge is not to be crossed unless the captain finds it absolutely necessary.
The third column will hold steady at the neck in the road near the Steady Hand. Expect heavy resistance.
-----------------------------
Phase 2
The first column, after decimating all resistance on the island, will hold a defensive position at the mouth of the cave. They should not enter the cave for any reason.
The second column will advance behind the third column, providing assistance as needed. Most importantly, they will make sure that the third column is not flanked from behind or the side.
The third column will press forward and retake the area around the Steady Hand. After completion, four soldiers (noted as two red dots on the phase three sketch) will be stationed to make sure that the kobolds do not scale the walls of Goblintown to flank. The rest will merge into the second column.
-----------------------------
Phase 3
At the motion of the Field Commander, phase three will begin with the first column taking position on the ridge near the field commander. From here they will launch vollies at the enemy from above.
The second column, after receiving reinforcements from the third column, will advance towards the entrance to Goblintown. They should proceed with caution and let the first column help weaken the enemy resolve as much as possible before any hasty advancements are made.
The third column will maintain their position near the Steady Hand ruins.
