Books found on the shelves of XYZ

Would like to suggest that for certain areas that brag about having a librarry with books-- such as the Beacon or the Town Hall-- where players are suppose to be able to read at their leisure--

Have a stickied thread in one of the main threads on the Forums instead. Or maybe just a forums of its own-- labeled "Libraries in Sanctuary and Beyond"

"Books found on the shelf of the library in the Beacon" "Books found on the shelf of the library in the Town Hall" "Books found on the shelf of the library in the Watchouse"

This would let people "read" these books-- without having to create IG shelves that can be "opened" and books that can be taken, sold, junk put on the shelf, etc.

Might want to make some of the threads postable, and let the players write a book or two -- but this would have to have instructions with such warnings as "Your post will be deleted if the DMs think your post is inapropriate."

Or maybe just a "Book Submissions Thread", and then a DM could "make copies of the book" and place them in the "libraries" that would hold that scroll/manual/book/ledger.

I am sure players would get a kick out of finding "their own poetry" in one of the IG libraries. Would also allow for public documents to be in the appropriate place, etc.

I wasn't aware the Town Hall and the Watchhouse bragged about having a library, and especially not ones in which players could "read at their leisure."

I know for the Society, despite the many bookcases we have in the common room, the amount of books available to the public are both very few, and very limited in the information they contain--for a reason. As for the Beacon's library I imagine the specifics regarding that would be FOIG information.

So I'm not sure I support this suggestion just yet. Depending on whether or not certain stuff happens IG, I might very well change my stance, though.

The Watch's library is behind two sets of locked doors, so not the best place for public browsing. I can see where you're coming from, but most of the places that have access to large amounts of books don't have them open to everyone. A revival of the old public library idea that was around a while ago would allow for this, but it'd have to be persued IG, naturally.
