The Sslal'teesh

Sanctuarians

The Sslal'teesh are a dire threat to all your safety. They have assassinated many political figures, including would-be-Councillor Wendall Hood in an attempt to weaken the city. They have sent their spies into the city to collect information, and they walk amongst us. They have sent large forces to the city, one which ravaged the Blue Mushroom while its defenders valiantly stood against them. The Sslal'teesh threat must be destroyed before they come to our walls. They will not fight against Sanctuary's strongest point, but they will find other ways into the city to divide our forces.

Other deceptive lizards following an enemy of the wretched Moander are also enemies of the city, using us to wage war on the Moanderites. They tried to sacrifice Councillor Meldren to strengthen themselves, and then murder the witnesses. Will you let yourselves be used in a lizardfolk civil war? The Moanderites must die for their actions, and their Synod should collapse, but the enemies of Moander who wage war against the city in a different way cannot be spared either.

The Sslal'teesh have a path to the surface which they use to bring slaves in. Anyone who has wanted to go home, this is cause for you to help storm the city and destroy the Sslal'teesh once and for all. Citizens, demand to know what the plans are for war, and demand to be involved. Do not idly sit by and claim that "beetle infestations" are more important. Be on the look out for spies. Slaughter the lizardskins, for they have all commited crimes against you, and this city.

Sanctuarians

The threat of the Sslal'teesh will not go away in idleness. They are not mist which you can wave away and go about your daily business. They are a force which wants to enslave you, kill you, use you for experiments to create foul maggots. They will infest your body and you will watch helplessly as maggots crawl through your body, devouring you slowly. This is a bleak picture, but it is a true picture. There is a counter. I, Gelleran Cispone the First, champion of the Cloak, shall lead a force against the Sslal'teesh. I care not for secrecy, the Cloak shall allow this message to be seen by all the Sslal'teesh spies so that they can tremble, and fear our coming. Within a few days I shall lead this force, and it shall crush the Synod. I call upon all of the allies, even the trecherous enemies of the Sslal'teesh who are still lizards.

The Sslal'teesh shall be destroyed, massacred, and they shall know the wrath of those that they tampered with. Those who wish to aid in any way that they can, whether it be in donations of supplies and money, or their blade, bow, magic, or any skill to fight the Sslal'teesh shall leave me a note at the Rock Bottom soon. A band shall then leave and end this threat that no one in the city seems willing to do anything about.

A sword for every lizardfolk head, a shield to every defender of this city. Gelleran Cisopine the First Champion of The Cloak

Devotion of the Cloak

The Cloak which protects us, which guides us, shall lead the defenders against the wicked Sslal'teesh and their unholy maggots. All of the Gods who shall be represented within the holy crusaders shall be adored in this Devotion, but the Cloak is to be the first and foremost. By giving adoration to the deities who shall be leading us in this attempt to slaughter the Sslal'teesh, we strengthen them, and in return they strengthen the crusaders. All worshippers of the Cloak, Baravar Cloakshadow, or any followers of -( Hoar , Ilmater , ______ , _____)- shall be appreciated at the Devotion. In this Devotion we shall give our respects to the deities, and give them offerings in mass prayer.

This Devotion shall not take long, and I do not expect many shall show up. If you are a citizen of Sanctuary, and do not know how you can help since you do not wield a sword nor carry an excess of money, taking a few moments off to come and give your respects to the deities which guide our warriors shall strengthen us. Seek guidance in the Cloak, and give your respects to defend the city. It shall occur tomorrow, at ((3.00 PM PST, 11.00 PM GMT))

Gelleran Cisopine the First Crusader of the Cloak

The Holy Crusade

The Crusade against the Sslal'teesh shall begin at ((3.00 PST, 11.00 GMT, Sunday)). All those willing to fight against the Sslal'teesh threat, and destroy them fully shall present themselves at the gate. Let the Sslal'teesh tremble as they attempt to prepare for our holy assualt upon their blighted lands.

Crusaders of Sanctuary

Gelleran Cisopine the First

Do not trust this creature. It is suspected of being a spy for the Slaal'teesh. It fled before it would allow itself to be examined and searched in a lawful trial. This creature has attempted to assassinate allies sworn to protect Sanctuary and aid in the destruction of the Slaal'teesh cult of Moander.

The Slaal'teesh will fall. It will fall because loyal and courageous people will move to destroy it. They suffered yet another set back in combat with Sanctuary, their third now in a row. We have our worse losses this time because this was the first attack that came to Sanctuary before this the Watch met the lizard folk north of the Blue Mushroom and turned them back; then we fought and defeated them with the aid of the Seekers on an island; and this time the we gave our lives and our leader to stop them in our own city.

The tide has turned in the Dark Lake. Todark, we march to destroy the cultists of Moander. Our allies will march beside us.

[posted at the gate]

The Crusade shall go as planned. Those who crusade shall come, some powermongring within the city shall not stop us. The Sslal'teesh control a path to the surface-- a path that those who wish to stay in power want you to believe does not exist, for they have no power on the surface. The Crusaders shall meet at the designated time and we shall leave, and not be hindered by anything.

Lieutenant Barrister Fawkes is an agent of the Synod, trying to destroy the city from inside. By his orders, the gates were left unmanned during the invasion, and by his orders the men were told not to defend, or listen to reports of the Sslal'teesh coming. He went so far as to jail the people who knew that the Sslal'teesh were coming. Why? Barrister Fawkes wishes power. He knew that the honorable Ronus Graiden would give his life to defend the city, and he also knew that he, Barrister Fawkes, would be "doing important paperwork" at the time. Fawkes wants to become Sheriff, and then wishes to impose martial law so that he can rule Sanctuary with an iron fist. Do you want this slavery? Do you want to be ruled under a tyranny of Fawkes? He is lying, desperate for power. We shall march upon the Sslal'teesh and destroy them, no matter what he says. He wishes for the city to wait-- wait for what? Another invasion to come and destroy more people in the city? He will convince you with his lies that "the city is marching," yet I see no preparations from the watch, only name pointing. We march. The heroes of Sanctuary shall march. Councillor-Baron Maxwell von Matterheim shall be with us should he not be pre-occupied with the defence of the city. Councillor Julian and Blackhaw shall be coming. Three councillors. Which cause is more righteous, that which three councillors have sworn to, or that which a corrupt spy wants you to believe is true?

Fight against corruption, fight against the Sslal'teesh. Come to the gate at ((3.00 PM PST, 11.00 GMT)) to march against the Sslal'teesh to destroy them finally. The Devotion, which was delayed by Fawkes's attempts to make the gods themselves agry at us, shall take place right before. All watchmen and spellguard agents are welcome to come, but if they try to hassel anyone they shall be removed.

Fawkes

Do you feel threatened? You lie left and right, trying to maintain power. You let me go, because you wanted people to not fight. You let me escape from the cells. You did everything you could to allow me to escape, even telling me I was free to go. Now you lie and claim I am a spy. I have done the most for the citizenry. I threaten your power, like the Seekers do, so I am your enemy. You have no reports. I was put on trial, and even Bhast laughed at the charged and said that the person who wrote up the warrant was an idiot. That means you, Fawkes.

Crusader Cisopine

The lies Gelleran spread will now be dispelled. Gelleran was a foul servant of Urdlen, the same beast-god that the Chosen worship. His goal was nothing less than to lead a slaughter, a blood offering to his foul lord.

When the Watch warns you citizens, heed that warning.
