A short speech given by Saerwen in the Town Hall

Why have I come here? Why am I speaking? Because I believe this needs to be said. I feel we are unorganised and divided against the numerous threats that appear before us like a great big appearing thing in the dark. What are they? Yes, the lizardmen that threaten to invade, but also the Vampires that steal children in the night and the slime Drow that may be in correspondence with the lizardmen, those that make our Sewers an even more dangerous place, destroy the rat hunter's source of income, attack, kill and enslave citizens of Sanctuary and plan the downfall of us all.

They prey upon us, like cattle these threats, going almost unhindered except for a minor few who are a dying breed. We must all take a stand against the injustices of the day in whatever way we can. A simple old man crying out his beliefs can incite a chain reaction that puts things right. Take a stand! Even the meakest of us can make all the difference in the world.

Don't roll over and die, at least die fighting for a cause, try to make the best of any given situation. Keep eye and ear open, and if you see something not right, speak up! Let all of Sanctuary know else the next person who suffers an injustice may be you. If indifference rules you then you are cattle to be herded and manipulated until you are dead.

If you see a helmed elf, point him out and cry "Drow!". If it is a tel'quessir like me then they would gladly show their face and set things right, always assume to be Drow first and elven second. Furthermore, let people know if you notice others disappearing, The Beacon or The Watch will seek them out and determine the culprit. If you know something, don't stay quiet.

I know the Spellguard makes dealings with devils, and that the slaving ring previously headed by Walters is still alive and well in Lower Sanctuary, they even have dealings with the foul lizardmen that threaten our very lives.

I also suspect Demetrius Bhast funded the gangs that ravaged Lower when the Tigereyes collapsed, I am voicing what I know and suspect and encourage all citizens to do the same.

Let your voice be heard, and let one thing rule over all else. Freedom!
