Random, not too important question

I asked this last night in hopes for some reason that I might get a response from the DM that was on,.. but they were obviously busy with important things, of which, this question is more curious than important.

Do you DM's ever get to actually kick your heels back, and play in EFU as a regular "charecter"? I've always wondered this, if you guys actually get to play and have your own charecters that you try and level up, and adventure with.

I ask, cause whenever I log on and look through the player lists, whenever you see that a DM is on, they are almost always a lvl 1 charecter,.. or sometimes, a lvl 2. Which made me wonder if you guys ever get to play efu yourselves, and form friendships IC with people and such, as your charecters,.. not as a DM of course.

*shrugs* Just curious.

All the time. I suspect 80% of the players online, at any given time, are DM's playing regular characters with their 4-5+ computer setup.

Yep, we all play regular PCs every now and then.

Otherwise, we lose touch with what it's like to be a player. We also can get a better feel for overall loot level, the feelings of the playerbase, how popular/balanced/good quests are, etcetera.

Some of us do manage to find some time to play as a PC from time to time. It's worth noting that we as DMs do not give our own characters any extra loot, XP, free raises, or any other advantages unless the character is intended for a very specific testing purpose (in which case you probably won't see that character at all). It's also worth noting that we very much would appreciate it if people didn't try to guess who a DM PC might be (there actually aren't many), or spread that information around. Everyone on the DM team has given a lot to the server and the luxury of being able to slip into anonymity as just another player is a rare pleasure.
