When you choose a familiar, how closely should the alignment match be between the PC and familiar?

Do we need to take creature alignment into account at all? (That is, can we simply assume that familiars are under enough control that creature alignment is irrelevant, and they will do their master's bidding regardless of what it is asked?)

I ask because, of the familiars you can choose in EfU, the count is as follows...

Chaotic Neutral - 5 Chaotic Evil - 2 Neutral Evil - 1 Lawful Evil - 1 True Neutral - 1 Neutral Good - 1

As you can see, it's pretty severely skewed to Chaotic and Evil. Only 1 of the 11 are "good" aligned. Only 1 of the 11 are "lawful" aligned.

You can assume they'll do your bidding, although something like an intellect devourer (as an example) is still a twisted aberration.

Really, though, I hope to completely redo all the familiars at some point, I'm not very happy with them.
