To whom it may concern
By now you may have seen the bounty posters around town and maybe even received a report about three bandits. Allow me to recount the events as they really occured. I journeyed with a small group to take care of a troglodyte problem in the wet swamp. My companions were Lucius Fox, Mistress Smallfolk, and a dwarf called Kelden (I think). A group of them were waiting for us in the fog and we were quickly outnumbered. I awoke later in the Mausoleum. Apparently someone found me and thought I was dead. I found help and returned to the Wet Caves. Upon entrance to the caves, a man I later learned was called Dhymes, demanded money for the assistance. I promised him whatever gold I had. When the troglodytes were defeated I discovered my gold had been taken, probably by the troglodytes. Mistess Smallfolk was still alive and we managed to save her. The other two could not be found, dead or alive. I don't know what became of Fox, but I have the dwarf's equiptment still. He may have escaped later. I offered Dhymes some of my possessions but he said it wasn't good enough, so one of the rescuers paid him. Mistress also gave him gold for the help. When he learned I was an exile he tried to blackmail me. The others all told him to leave, and upon leaving he threatened us. Some of the others left, and those still in the foggy caves were attacked by Dhymes. We beat him down and let him leave. The rest of us, Perogo the druid, Rastan, and I, headed back toward Sanctuary. I stopped to inform Hrunpar that we couldn't slay the trogs for him, when Dhymes appeared again. He assumed the other two had gone ahead without me. He threatened me again and Perogo jumped out of the shadows and beat him down once more. We then let him leave yet again. When we returned to the mines, we were confronted with a group of people speaking with Dhymes. He pointed us out as bandits but since many of the group knew Rastan, they did not believe him. The two of them escorted me to Lord Bunge's camp and found Dhymes yet again, this time attempting to convinve Fen that I had robbed them. Naturally he didn't believe the criminal and the man left once more.
If you need to reach me, leave a letter with Fen at the Beacon and he'll find me.

Jenner, the Watch is requesting that you turn yourself in for trial for breaking the terms of your exile yet again. You will not be harmed if you enter Sanctuary and immediately head to the Watch House for arrest and trial.
We will look into the situation involving your friends.

And just what should I have done? I was already in the city when I regained conciousness. If I hadn't gone into the tavern to get help, my companions would have died. When it comes between chosing to obey the law and doing what is right, I took the path I thought was best. I'll come to trial soon, I have some things I need to get done first, in case I lose my life.

The lawful thing would have been to turn yourself in immediately or immediately exit the city. Barring that, you might have helped your friends and then turned yourself in.
Your failure to turn yourself in immediately unfortunately is indicative of your willingness to mock the law of Sanctuary and your punishment. This is the third time you've broken the terms of your exile. I will no longer urge the Council to leniency.
An example must be made of you I now believe it was a mistake to believe you could be redeemed.

I admitted that I was in the city in my letter, I thought perhaps being taken uncouncious into the city wouldn't count as breaking Exile. Not to mention it would hardly have been safe for me to walk into the city to the Watch office after that man was accussing me of Banditry. I'd also like to mention that this is the second time I broke exile, as the "first" time I was never told. I first learned of it from you in the Rock Bottom. (//I have transcripts to proove that exile wasn't mentioned by Gibbon during trial)
You know I have never done anything intentionally to harm the city. And where has it got me? Banned from citizenship because of my birth, exiled for being enslaved, and facing execution for walking into a tavern in search of help for three brave fighters to fell to enemies. During my stay in the wilderness I've been attacked by elementals, beaten by goblins, blackmailed, and framed. And you seek to make an example out of me. Aside from a few stupid mistakes, I have always tried to obey the law. I threw away my citizen stone the second I learned that I was no longer allowed to carry it, dispite the fact that I never know that when there's an attack on the city. No one complained about me being in the gate when I was standing for hours on the tower, protecting the city when there were reports of an attack.
Legality and morality do not always mix, you told me this yourself when Iria and I asked to join the Watch. What I have done was what I believe and what I was taught was the right thing to do, at risk of my own life and freedom.
