On the subject of Quest Hooks

If I may suggest this, the quest hooks offered by NPCs could use some additional subtlety. Most quests I've seen so far are obtained by marching up to an NPC and, without prompting from the NPC in most cases, casually asking if work is available. This, and no insult is intended to the creators of the quests and dialogues, is both somewhat lacking in social graces, from an in character perspective, and seems somewhat forced, from an in character/out of character perspective - after all, since you can only ever ask NPCs that have tasks to be done such a question, your character will always get a positive answer. If I may, and being aware of the amount of work and rework changing dialogues requires, some hinting on the quest-offering NPCs part before the "Do you have work for me?" option appears might help add atmosphere to the server, as well as a smoother feel to the dialogues.

I think its mostly temporary as social grace in dialogue is less important than working out a few kinks like not enough quests, bugs in quests, etc. Pretty sure it was mentioned somewhere, possible just in a conversation, that some of the quest dialogues will change.

You may also note, it makes sense in a few cases as public signs and notices mention these NPCs have work available. Especially in town hall, but on fliers in other places too.

Would it be possible to script citizens to randomly talk to one another, giving off info about quests? This would be particularly interesting in the taverns. I envisioned something like this...

Bar Patron 1: Eh, you hear 'bout that poor girl down below?

Bar Patron 2: Which one Mac? The one with them blisters all o'er, or the one that's been crying to them guards?

Bar Patron 1: The whinin' one, she's been harpin' on 'bout them silly rats in the sewers! But I dunno... gives me a creepy feelin' when'aer I see'r cryin' so. She seems right mad, creepy I say.

Bar Patron 2: Aye, I hear ya Mac, I hear ye. Let's get another round, eh?

*Eavesdropping hero dashes off to investigate!*

Quite a few of our quest dialogues (the majority, I suspect) will be rewritten (along with their journal entries) to be more eloquent once we have dealt with the higher-priority issues of actually getting the quests working. Hang in there!
