Well, the group have decided we will be moving location tomorrow, the threat generated from the mines is too great for us to be able to hold off until our leave is ordered and we are replaced.
Captain says that we will be using and old tunnel but he doesnt want to say anything else incase they've got another one listening to us. That was my proudest moment, my keen eyesight actually managed to spot something for once and the captain allowed me to join him and the lads in the Main Tent for a Drink.
Its lights out now and aslong as they dont attack at night again we'll make a move at mid day tomorow.

Being a Dwarf scout gets you called all sorts
Theif, Sneak, Creeper , Spidertoe and Filcher to name a few
It seems as if i picked the wrong profession as a boy, though i could knock a Cow on its arse as the others i but im not seen as "Stout" among the Soldiers though i've more thane once saved them.
We make a move in 30 minutes and im to be up front with the Captain now he knows i've got the Eyes of a Hawk.

[A Large Slash Marks the middle of the page as if hit by an arrow]
Just a quick entry before we leave. The Watchers reported movement to the east, which was probably them trying to get Captain again. Hes courage and wisdom amazes me, how he managed to take two of them in his tent in nothing mroe than his nightgown kept all of us going for a night or two.
Stonebeard came back with two bodys two minutes ago they were trying to get in and they had some poison on them. I managed to get it off of the body and im gonna keep it in my beard for safe keepings aswell.
We move in 10 minutes...it will be great.

So far so good, we've gotten to the safety of a hill which will give us a good place to kip and as of tomorrow morning we'll be heading through the pass and then when we get through that we'll be home free for the Fort.
Captains nervous and that doesnt happen often They had a small Ambush waiting for us at the first low pass between the hillsides. I saw the signs, they are alwasy the same. Theres always a few new ones and you can guess how many there are depending on how many of the rookies heads looking over form time to time.
If you see two expect thirty.
If you see three expect fifty.
If you see four ecpect one hundred
If you see Five...run.

[The writing appears to have been written hastily]
Smoke in the north. Movement to the south. Arming us up. Getting ready for an attack.
[After a large gap in the page writing begins again]
They attacked in masses. They charged through the gate only to be meet by our defenders. The Defenders stood there taking blows by upto eight of them and managesd to survive.
We're not waiting any longer we're making a charge for the Mountain. With the smoke to the east we hope its the loggers.

[Several pages have been removed from the book though a short strip at the top of one of the first pages raken out is just elligible]
They took my name.
