Letter to the Watch and Big Bill [DM]

[copies of this letter are hand delivered to the upper Watch and Big Bill, and a copy has been made and left at the Town Hall for Julian Fryar, as per his request]

My name is Ferdinand Fenwick, and the following is a affidavit of the events that recently occured in the Beacon.

On the day of ::( Second of Marpenoth :: Year 151 :: 1373 DR ):: I, Ferdinand Fenwick did witness the following.

The warlock known as Zur entered the Beacon, and Vibernum Blackhaw asked him to pay restitution for damages he has caused the building. Zur refused. Bern asked Zur to leave the Beacon, and she said that Zur was banned from entering the Beacon. Zur refused to leave. Bern asked four more times, and Zur refused to leave. The footmen were asked to come, but they were busy with another incident. Bern asked Zur one last time, and Zur started to cast magic. A fight ensued, and a beggar and a child were seriously injured by errant magic. Zur was ejected from the Beacon.

Three days previous to this incident, I did also witness the following. Zur and the footman known as Mug were in the Beacon. Mug attempted to arrest Zur, and there was a fight. Zur cast explosive magics in the main room of the Beacon, and Quillen of the Watch was seriously injured by this errant magic.

To summate: The warlock known as Zur has caused the Beacon much damage, and has injured several citizens by refusing to follow the law and refusing to follow the requests given to him by the caretakers of an establishment in lower. Zur is banned from coming into the Beacon. If Zur again tries to enter the Beacon, the Lower Watch will be summoned to assist in his removal.

Other witnesses to Zur's crimes include Vibernum Blackhaw, Westly, Castle the cook of the Beacon, and Quillen of the upper Watch.

Your assistance in this matter will be appriciated.

[signed by Ferdinand Fenwick]

Any responses to this letter may be left at the Beacon

As I understand it, you do not own the Beacon legally. Furthermore, you are unwelcome trespassers at this time and should willingly vacate the property or meet with Demetrius Bhast to establish a proper right to reside on the premesis before you are ordered evicted by the Watch. Therefore the actual owner of the property may file a complaint about damages to the building. When we obtain information from Demetrius Bhast, this will be dealt with.

Zur the Warlock to my knowledge was captured by Mug the dwarf and fined in excess of 5,000 gold coins by the Lower Footmen. Sadly, at this time the Footmen are not fully incorporated into the Watch so we can not easily request files but its likely the Footmen handled this matter based on the evidence of a 5,000 gold fine.

I will continue an investigation since it appears a Watchman was injured as well and I am concerned about the harm to citizens--however, you may not file complaints about damage to property you do not own and have no legal claim to.
