Couple things in particular.

Do i need specific IRC software? If so what is recommended, or a good place to start. (I have window xp)

Any other general IRC tips to getting started.

You can download mirc (for example) or just go to the Darkmyst site and use the chat now option, no download required very handy at the work place, for that quick efu fix.

Commands you will need:

Pick a nick /nick (insert the nick you want)

Register your nick /nickserv register (choose a password to register your nick)

To login next time using the registered nick /nickserv identify (insert the password)

How to join a channel /j (insert channel name) ex: /j efu

How can you connect to a server? (I'm trying from my dorm, and there might be a firewall implemented)
