A letter left at the Chapelhouse of the Ordered Mind

I write this letter to the ones in charge of this chapelhouse. I am Jherick McNarg and I wish to join your Society of the Ordered Mind. My memories of my past are currently scattered and I cannot remember much. I think I was a slave to the foul illithids and I do not know where I am or barely who I am. I just know that I am here. If you all kill beasts like these then I want to join. I think, no, I know I am a paladin now as was before. I know no other place to go, except here. I am 29 years of age. What say you?

Jherick McNarg,

First of all, this is a "Chapterhouse," not a "Chapelhouse." There is a difference, and the intellect to perceive that difference is valuable among those who expect to survive long in Sanctuary, much less combat aberrations. I'll also state that our Society requires a holy vow to join, which may or may not conflict with your duties as a paladin, and may prove too much for someone as apparently addle-brained as yourself. Nonetheless, if you wish to speak about the Society of the Ordered Mind and potentially taking up the mantle of our holy crusade, find me at the Chapterhouse or about the city.

To Ordinant Kelarand

It appears that I have misread the sign outside of the chapterhouse, being that it is very dark around this place and so I thank you for showing my small mistake with your ever-so-warming and friendly correction. And informing me on the knowledge needed to survive in this place and beyond, something I must know at least somewhat to make it to this place called "Sanctuary". If a holy vow is needed to join then so be it. Rather I choose to take it will be my decision when the time comes. Also, you should not be so quick to judge newcomers. You know?
