Grimy Notebook

Met the local man. Seems steady enough. A bit slow for my taste. Looking for my own colt while he gets a line on the float. Might be of use, though I have my own leads.

Feeling twitchy about this meeting. Assuming the pigs haven't found him yet.

A stained and grimy book is taken from its hiding place

Went for a ride. Didn't learn much other than the captains either real secretive or a well meaning fool. Might be the informations worth knowing, remember to check up on that. No more passing through their waters unprepared.

Waiting on word for two jobs, one in the sewers. Don't like it, feels like the law's hiring us, and for cheap likely. Boss is quiet on who's passing him information, very quiet. Might be the mark has what I need though. Not looking forward to dealing with what lives down there either.

Getting worse. Orcs attacked, don't know why. Gates are down again. I have to watch for the best moment to jump ship but where to go?

Cashin/Chip gave the "door" to Bern. Bern gave it to the Councilor. Where does this door go to? Is it worth the effort?

Who is Santegue? Is he still alive? Who is Lord Pyrine? What does he teach? Apparently the Spellguard are familiar with the matter. Seemed to scare the Boss plenty which tells me it's worth knowing.

The book is returned to its hiding place

A quick note is jotted in the notebook

The Doombringers do not always see eye to eye.

Garnkel Lyedom the Collector. He has something I desire and I look forward to his correspondence. Perhaps this and that matter of the door may be resolved together.

My curiousity burns as I hold this Second Animation in my hands. I must remember to consult the Collector upon the means of opening these volumes. The knowledge within may aid in my understanding of prolonging death.

I have discovered the Seventh Animation. It looks very much like the first and second, though heavier. I shall have to make a point of speaking with Thomas, as I have not encountered The Collector.

During the course of the day it became prudent to take passage on a ship. In so doing I have located a very interesting book detailing the ways of boating in the Underdark, and in the Dark Lake in particular. I will take the time to read this in its entirity, as the full understanding of operating the Deep Iolite escaped me previously. As the ship and the book are of kuo-toa design, this knowledge could very well prove invaluable.

It would be wise to more carefully chose your marks next time.

the notebook is placed in a new hiding place

I am left disappointed, it is quite possible this Collector knows nothing of use. I shall keep a sharp lookout for the copies of the remaining texts and arrange for a meeting with the Madman.

My contact is very likely dead and so another possible route of escape has been severed.
