Councilors
I was told of a Bounty Notice at Fort Mur, an Outpost of Duergar Mercenaries who participate in slave trade and other unsavory affairs. This notice piqued my interest as my name was listed on it as an "Associate" and "Slave".
As I had no knowledge of anything like this, and I was offended with such slander, I journied to the fort and learned the details.
Mandarin Dreagle has a bounty on himself for 10,000 coins.
This bounty was placed by the Synod of Sslal'teesh, an Agent of the Synod was at the outpost whom I spoke with. I was told that Mandarin and several others listed as his associates had traveled to Sslal'teesh as conquerers. Mandarin had slain hundreds with his associates for no true reason aside for the sake of murder; When they asked for mercy and peace, he offered no quarter and continued his slaughter.
I do not condone the people of Sslal'teesh or Mandarin Dreagle. Would the Lizardfolk not of been ridden with plague, sickly and weak I am sure that their positions would be reversed if it suited them.
This is why I write to the council; the Agent pressed me for Mandarin's location but I refused thoroughly. Eventually the Lizardfolk will find a cure to their plague but their revenge will still remain lacking. Their scouts will continue looking for Mandarin's home until they find Sanctuary, and it's possible we may very well deal with a War between Sslal'teesh and Sanctuary.
I do not desire to sacrifice any man towards a wretched people such as those of Sslal'teesh, however I know Mandarin to be a man of unsavory record and several within the Watch might vouch for this. In the end, there are very few alternatives; Mandarin may be offered to Sslal'teesh to reap what he has so recklessly, and mercilessly sowed. Or he may be exiled so Sanctuary is at less possible risk, or nothing may be done and we may hope that the angered Synod of Sslal'teesh forget of the blind slaughter and do not go seeking a scapegoat or revenge from Sanctuary.
The decision, fortunately, was never in my hands.
Sincerely,
Ivandur Reynolt
