I just became aware of this problem when I received the copies you forwarded to me. Rest assured, this dwarf is not authorized to represent the Clan, and you may ignore any claims to the contrary as you wish.

We apologize for his boorish behavior and although I hesitate to discuss Clan business with non-Clan, you can be sure that this matter will be dealt with.

Concerning coming to your assistance in these matters, while this dwarf's methods of communicating our misgivings is completely improper, the sentiment reflects an influential segment of the Clan. Do not judge us as mercenaries, but the situation that we are forced to pay rent to occupy the area known as Barak-Tor has created a bit of resentment amongst the rank and file of our Clan. In effect, we are paying the Watch for the right to help them with the Chosen infestation that threatens all of Upper.

While we are gracious for the chance to have our own Clanhome, the preparation for clearing the area out, as well as the need to hire on for various tasks to pay the rent, has occupied much of our time. But I stress that this matter is still under consideration, and we need more information before we can agree as a Clan to do so.

And of course, my greatest personal apologies concerning the behavior of the Stouthearts. I can tell you that these types of acts will not continue to occur while I am the Thane of the Stoutheart Clan.

I will try to find some sort of payment for your aid in the matter, though it can be nothing too great.

I will discuss the details in person, though it may be best to speak with Sergeant Marshall as she will be in charge of this operation as far as assembling our volunteer force.
