Varlem,

It is my understanding, you and your office tend to issues of the will and rights of those fallen and through this not forgotten.

I ask now the customs and requirements necessary to tend to the will of one who is fallen, and will not return. What arrangements can be made and how does due process proceed? Is there a fee? Is there a deposit required? Is there files that remain permenant or subject to altercations?

In addition, is there an obituary in the Sanctuary Times that either through your divisions and office or the times itself?

I appreciate and await your resonse.

Mydur.

Mydur,

I am in the process of recommending a clerk devoted to the processing of wills; to support the Office of the Herald, a minimal fee may be incurred-- I estimate it to be between Twenty-five and Seventy-five gold coins.

As the specialized clerk has not yet been hired, I have no procedures to pass to him, nor have I worked on establishing any procedures with him. I suspect the files might be altered at a later date with certain provisions. The process will likely involve the summons of those who are in possession of the deceased's belongings, and those who are to receive them, the reading of the will to those summoned, and the fulfillment of the deceased's last will.

The Sanctuary Times is not affiliated with the Office of the Herald. I believe a Miss T. Sureshadow is in charge of it at present. I do not recall where she receives correspondence, though a copy of the Sanctuary Times from Bartholomew the Scribe should indicate such.

I, or the specialized clerk, will notify you with an update by Marpenoth; if you are currently in possession of a Will, I might review it and advise you on what to do.

scribed in return

Varlem,

I appreciate your advice, your detailed, and plentifull information to myself, as a citizen, on this subject. I will then proceed with some details for you to understand the situation, the person, and our requests as Clan.

Henrick Hammerhand. A long time hero to Stouts, a founder indeed, spending a great amount of effort to ensure the safety of not only Clan, but Sanctuary itself. He will not be, Mother embracing, returning to us here. Thankfully, Sharlindlar willing, he is carrying on, as robust and strong as ever.

His remains, are in Clan possesion now. In fact the Hold, the priests tried in vain to revive him, but alas, it was an effort proved ill. Beyond their own powers, he cannot return and his ashes are now in an urn, hidden safe from would be thugs. As well, his possesions are also still intact and in Clan hands. Rollo will without a doubt have a list of demands required under dwarven right and law, to satisty that Henrick Hammerhand will be in accordance with dwarven customs.

His will would be of oral notation as I am unaware and do not believe that any written wills are declared under dwarven custom. Oral tradition is the primary.

I am very certain that whever the cost is, even if it exceeds the 75gp would be paid without even a bat of an eye, for he is an unsung hero. A friend and long time citizen to Sanctuary.

I will speak with Rollo on this matter as to custom and law for our kin, and return back to you. However, should you have any concerns yourself, for I am but a Vudder, you are certainly welcomed and in fact asked to write to Rollo himself about this issue.

Not to be crude or rash, but dwarven custom will take priority on this solemn task, yet although Henrick was a Stout, he was too in fact a citizen of Sancutary as well and we would like to coordinate an effort to ensure he is not forgotten as time marches its endless movement forward.

I we thank you, I, myself thank you, and am looking forward to proceeding with the next step in this grave yet crucial endeaveor.

Mydur
