Comrade,
I am requesting a position in your ranks, this letter will explain why it must be so.
The common man knows he will never be free until he has the choice to leave. This is where the seeker is grown, almost naturally, from the rooted sentiments that ground this community. You owe everything you have to the common man. It is the recognition of this debt that sets a seeker apart, you and your men work to repay it tirelessly. Sanctuary is an impossible place. That it has survived for one hundred fifty years is unimaginable, yet I see it with my own eyes daily. Too well do I know the dangers of the underdark to believe it unless I saw it. Truly, it is a marvel. However, all is not well. The common man has little to eat and less for which to hope. He is prayed upon because he is not free.
Many years have I been in the underdark, and not a night has passed that I have not prayed to see home again. No longer captive, I am finally able to pursue this path and I have already begun as much. It is my conviction that I will one day know the sun again. It is my responsibility to my fellow man that has lead to this letter. For what manner of person would I be to seek only for myself what is inherit in the very nature of all? No manner of which I would be proud. I am therefore obligated to your service and should you desire, all that I can offer will be yours.
