Everyone who plays DnD is a satan-worshipping baby-eater

Just so you know. Can't say the strange man didn't warn you.

(Note, I'm an athiest but I have nothing against christians. Just the psychotic ones.)

Well, he's nuts.

I mean, the rituals in those game books are nothing like the real rituals. They don't even use a blender for anything.

I just have such a hard time listening to anyone claim DnD is evil because plastic dice might attract evil spirits. I mean, whose really crazy? Kids playing a game of make believe, or a whacko who think evil spirits will possess them?

hello? its a chick tract. says enough.

No no, they're right, D'n'D is evil because it encrouages the idea of occult and such, hey, lets ban every single fantasy based novel, T.V show, game and website purely because someone was able to write the words "Occult" and "D'n'D" on a sheet of paper then find a way to fit words in between.

We have wars, murders, rape, one third of us will die of cancer, but lets not worry about that, lets bad-mouth a game. The persons time really could have been spent better.

On the contrare, he seems to be selling a fair amount of books and he's very likely making a profit out of his "writings"

Chick tracts are awesome. I heartily advise everyone to look around his website at some of the other things he's been telling the poor gullible bible bashers. Peace lobe and understanding don't have to have anything to do with religion and in most cases they're better off apart.

rotflmfao

Omg, tha's gwood!

Hehe, one more reason for the church i dont go to to call me a "evil influence on the children"

5:22 "Abstain from all appearance of evil."

Oh, crap, thats umm... My music, my DvDs, ALL my horror movies, my games.

I am sssoooooo going to hell.

Mothers Opposed to the Occult!

aka

MOO!

This is just as crazy as Benny Hinn! (I don't mean to offend anyone with that statement, please don't lynch me!)

OH LAWD Nightfire!!!

All I could think of watching Benny was how much it reminded me of the late Madarin Dreagle talking to the masses in the Town Hall!!

As a worshipper of Satan I find it laughable for someone to tell me that it was D&D that made me evil rather than the years of abuse and peer pressure.

Wow *watches the Hinn link* and the bible-bashers have the nerve to call -us- weird? Nope, no mass-hypnosis, hysteria or brainwashing going on -there-, no siree, definitely not.

I rest my case

AS A SATANIC EXTREME I have been playing DandD since I was 10. Oh fudge Ive been worshiping Satan since I was 10. Maybe I love DandD cause im possesed I need an exorcist pronto lol.

lol. I have been playing since i was five.

Well guess, i can be honest when i say; "see you all in hell."

It's funny because if you asked most D&D players if magic is real, they'll tell you, of course not, don't be ridiculous, this is just pretend.

The wackier religious people, from whichever religion, on the other hand, believe that magic, demons and divine intervention are all quite real.

"People need to understand that God's universe runs on laws no less real in the spiritual realm than the laws of physics that propel a bullet out of a gun-and those laws are just as irreversible."

Right. Only not subject to testing or proof.

If you really want to invert the metaphor, and mangle it some, it'd be like Barry Bonds preaching that the number of home runs he hits actually have some sort of importance in the grand scheme of things.

Actually...he probably does. Isn't he one of those guys that thank God for their batting averages? As if God were a Giants fan...have you seen their record?

I especially love the part about the Magical World View. The logic is so whacked it's hilarious. If only God has the power, evil magic and the occult are nonexistent and therefore, harmless.

Whats wrong with being a baby eater anyway? They taste nice and are low on calories.

Someone should also point out that certain religious beleifs may also seem silly when only one side of it is veiwed "Yes my children, come up to the alter and drink what we all believe is the blood of our savior!" "Now that we have this newly born baby boy, we're going to cut off part of his body" Theres always a negative spin to put on things, I don't like how this person is refusing to even accept the possibiltiy that its just a game.

The man is whacko and stupid.

In Israel we have courses, supported by many groups, including the bureau of education in our government. (I hope I don't have mis use of words)

It is proved that poeple who play this game, perform better in edcuation exams. And actually, in the best university in Israel for science, dnd is known by most, if not all students. Many of them have interest in it.

I think the stupid author actually player RDND, as if, he acutally performed the rituals =S

rolling dice and saying stuff doesn't make things happen. (Even in dnd, if you just say the word, the spell won't be casted, you need to study years in advance (or multiclass :P haha ))

I was surprised to see how many shotgun related suicides were related to D&D. I had no idea that shotguns were so common in the D&D setting. And not only that, but they are used to summon demons

That is because all the demons get into a car, and one of them shouts Shotgun! So, he demands to sit in front, but the won't let him so he gives a shotgun to one of the children who absolutely can't sit at front. And the child is so sad, so he shots himself.

Don't ask me, I'm awake for more then 24 hours, partly because EFU :D

Being a believer in Christ and a longtime gamer, I end up from time to time being confronted withDark Dungeons. Most of the time, I just laugh it off. Jack Chick and his mentor, Rev. Rivera are about as credible as Rev. Phelps (and in my opinion, Benny Hinn).

Strangest I have heard on this topic was "I saw guardian demons rising from those books!"

Hmmn...I play violent video games, listen to quite offensive heavy metal -and- play with guns...and I play D&D...

Aw hell...I am evil, aren't I? [sighs and wanders off toward his shotgun]

LAWL...what a dumbass.

1.Well i would say for thoes guys to take a good look at there easter, christmas and other things they think are to do with God and they will find that they come from pagan things.

2. Then there worship, which since is not free of these things is false and evil ...simple and to the point

My two cents, I'm a christian and I play D&D. I don't have a problem with it as long as the players are mentally stable in the first place. You have to have the ability to sort out reality from fantasy (i.e. that article linking D&D to brutal crimes, when these guys could have had a screw loose in the first place). Thats not a spiritual issue, but a mental one. Christians who play downright nasty evil characters worry me a bit. One christian guy I play with plays an evil halfling sorcerer who tortured my cleric of pelor for 5 rounds with a blood boiling spell for personal revenge and then stole 50x 100gp gems while she was unconscious. That sort of thing can strain friendships if it gets personal. So I'm all for christians playing D&D, so long as they live out their values in the fantasy realm. If you've read any of the old testament, there are some pretty brutal scenes there, an angel of God wiping out 200,000 enemy soldiers in one night. try RPing that combat!

Funny you should say that, my last big campaign had some biblical influence.

Which meant there was deciet, torture, wars, and in general, alot of nasty things.

The party were stalked and attacked at every turn, the main NPC's who had helped them out where only doing it to screw them over at the end, and the child whom they beleived would save the world quite happily murdered -anyone- who stood in her way, and even attempted this with the party at once point. All based on events from the bible.

For example, the cover of one D&D supplement, called Eldrich Wizardry, shows a naked woman reclining on an obviously satanic ritual altar.

Heh. This makes me wonder if he has ever browsed through any Warhammer illustrations.

ElCadaver So I'm all for christians playing D&D, so long as they live out their values in the fantasy realm.
I'm no christian but I still find this statement slightly odd, if I took it the right way. Players who play evil characters presumably aren't evil themselves, no matter how the notion of objective evil in D&D is to be interpreted -- else we should either have a very boring range of characters in the game world, or I should maybe rethink the people I associate with among the playerbase.

Hell, I don't know if these people are christians, but more than a few players -- and DMs -- that I know are particularly reknowned for the evil characters they've played in the past. It amuses me to even think that this should be a reason to worry about their morality or integrity. It particularly amuses me that you would worry about christians playing nasty evil characters, but not about others, by whatever rationale you have!

The limits of tasteful roleplay is an interesting question, though, if you only referred to very extreme and gratuitous kind of evil acts. (I don't think the kind of torture you described is there yet, however.) I'm not sure where the line goes. People have different answers to that.
