Sergeant,
I was under the impression that the rent had been paid. Perhaps the kinsman who told me this was mistaken, or likely daft.
Made a sending to arrange to pay it in case it had indeed not been rendered as you claim, and no one was available to take the payment.
I will clear this up immediately and find out either who received the payment or make the payment to the first Watch person I meet.
Thane Rollo Stonshield
Sergeant Fawkes,
There was a miscommunication concerning the payment. I will submit the full sum to the first watchperson I see, and apologize for the confusion.
In the future, is there perhaps a more efficient procedure that we might enact concerning this payment? I attempted a sending after I received your missive, and no watchperson answered it to receive this payment.
Also, I have received a communication from one who claims to be an inspector requesting access to the facilities, although Executor Strife already performed an inspection recently.
It's a bit bewildering actually. It seems that in effect, we are under the supervision of both the Watch and the Spellguard, and it seems logical that this may cause problems in the future due to the clumsy hierarchy that this creates.
Perhaps if there is a primary liason from each organization, or preferably one for both that will be our intermediary for administrative clarity? I would suggest Sergeant Sannen or Agent Lathain as I seem to encounter both fairly frequently.
My thanks for considering these matters,
~ Thane Rollo Stoneshield ~

I'm afraid that your lack of cooperation and respect for the Watch precludes me from any desire to extend cooperation towards you or Barak-Tor.
I expect the payment before the close of the day and in the future suggest you pay your rent a few days in advance to avoid similar problems.
The Spellguard is required to inspect Barak-Tor because you requested the ability to use magic down there. They must inspect and study the wards to affect this change you requested.
The Watch per the contract will inspect the region. If you are not involved in anything illegal this will not pose any problem.

Sergeant Fawkes,
I would dispute your accusations of impropriety. My communications with you were regarding questions I had concerning your personal interpretations of Sanctuary Law, and your attempts to clarify and even justify them. If an incredulous tone insinuated itself into these letters, it is due to my opinion that your enforcement of the law has been inconsistent with what is publicly posted and in Sanctuary Lawbooks.
It is quite disappointing that you have chosen to make this personal and convey such unprofessionalism in official communications between the Watch and the Stoutheart Clan.
I have not failed to cooperate with you or the Watch at any time. Nor have I displayed any lack of respect for the Watch in whole. If I have done so, please detail these incidences so that I may make amends and take care not to do so in the future.
I will admit being less than pleased with your performance in handling matters that relate to crimes committed against me or my kinsman. But that displeasure is aimed at you individually. Or more specifically, the execution of your duties in accordance with established Law.
In a previous letter, I asked you to justify how a magical attack upon my person causing me bodily injury can be construed as anything less than a serious crime necessitating a trial by Councilor due to the fact that it MAY be punishable by exile or stoning. Yet no response has been forthcoming.
It appears that your personal sensitivity to my questioning of your legal authority has jeopardized our ability to communicate in a professional matter. As the honorable man that I believe you to be, I request that you excuse yourself from the apparently tiresome and annoying duty of handling any ineractions between the Stoutheart Clan and the Watch concerning our fullfillment of our contractual obligations.
I do pledge the cooperation of myself and my Clan with the Watch in all future dealings that involve the safety of Sanctuary, and hope that our personal friction will not stand in the way of our desire to help protect the citizens of Sanctuary.
