I think it'd be handy to have the game state what the current IC date is on login. Especially for the sake of those who keep meticulous chatlogs from weeks and months back. Looking back through them, sometimes it can be useful to know what day an event happened on, for the sake of talking about it ICly.
This way, it'd be right at the top of the logs when logging in, and one doesnt have to stop by the Calendar every time they go in game.
>.> Bet I'm the only one who'd be really interested in seeing this though.

I regularly stop off at the Town Hall to check the date. I don't do anything with chatlogs, but I do set times when certain things are to be completed to other characters.

I want it too, and I think it will replace the unnecessary check in the town hall.
Why unnecessary? Because it is not important
(like eating and going for refreshments, etc.)

all for the auto date system. I can never figure out what day is what. so if we had a clock somehwhere in the chat logs then it would be sooooooo helpful

Can you list all the mounth names for me on the forums, or PM them to me. While im being dead i'd like to be able to come up with a wiggid char journal.
Also, in the Ed Greedwood book i have (Elminster in hell) it has a really dumbassed story, and it's like an episode of a show where they show really old clips, but it lists the names of the years and stuff.
Like 1347 DC, year of the flatulent Ogre.
Alright, i made that year name up, but i dont have my books ATM

I'll add a script that tells you the IG date whenever you log on.
As for those of you looking for the names of the months and years, check here for an excellent Forgotten Realms calender.

I don't believe timekeeping is a trivial process in our setting. There are npcs who have record keeping jobs that update the calandar at the Town Hall. Every character having IC access to /c date at any given time...well I dunno. That could be a counter-arguement. :O

I would think..since there is no way to keep a time **no sun =no sundials*. Unless some spiffy gnome comes up with a way to keep time mechnically...or a Wonderbringer cleric...yea...that'll work.
