I think that certain smaller cave systems should be only accessible by halflings or gnomes. I mean I had a large half-orc charecter and he crawled through the Narrows and it said he had to crawl to do so. Assumibly, this is the same for any other charecter.
But smaller ones should be like 'Only a halfling could fit through this hole' or something. Because not all holes are the same size and granted some races will be able to stand whereas others will have to walk.
What do you think?

I think areas that can be only access by small size creatures such as goblin, kobold, halfling, and gnomes is a good idea, in itself.

I like the idea of caves for little people as well. Could make for some interesting situations...

I personally think it would suck to be in a cave that has between your waste diameter and the difference between the size of the next largest phenotype as the maximum freespace. There's no way to emulate that cramped of a space.
If it's a -super small- passage leading into larger space, well someone would pop their head in and say "hey look, I can get in here if I make the passage larger," and, they would.

You are racist against halflings. The idea rocks and i demand waist high caves.

It's a pretty moot point. Human's can in fact get through 'waist high' caves.

Mole holes!
A special area on the Urdlen Quest which only Smallies can go through to beat on some more Urdelinites.
You ever tried expanding a mole hole? Impossible.
Have a Quest which involves going in a mole hole, a short one.

I in fact, have never witnessed a horror movie in which the following has happened:
There has been a tiny cave that the guy running from that other guy with the wickid-sick-claw-glove-thingy on his hand and came across a really small cave then couldnt get into the cave.
On a roleplaying point, caves so small only a halfling can get through would be a good idea, becasue just how is a human in full platemail armour with a heavy pack straped to his back going to fit into something half his hieght?

It's not a moot point at all, the humans would be crawling through, and you can forget swinging that weapon in there.
Maybe there could even be a special "debuff" in these areas that makes non-piercing weapons do half damage or even none.
You could debuff the "big" characters in those areas so they can only move slowly or somesuch. If you dont want to block access completely, I'd hamstring the "big" uns in such a place.

When.. I thought about it, it was more transition which can only be use by small creature size, as shortcuts-, or leading to places in quest only reachable by them, so with -something- special in there.

Yeah there could well be alternate ways to solve a quest.
Also gives druids polymorphing into badgers/bats or mages into pixies (or familiar control) other reasons for doing it too.
If theres specific ways to control access to certain zones.
You could put them on the localised "teleports" within sub-areas on a map. (that are used for upstairs areas etc)
It could then check race or appearance to see if they match certain criteria and teleport them, otherwise it would simply say "you're too big to fit in there"
I wouldnt put them on the EXITS from these areas as spells may run out and you dont want people to become permanently trapped in these areas.
Dieing in these areas could also be bad since only a "small" person could fetch your stuff/corpse. Though theres not exactly a shortage of shorties :)

What I thought when I read the first post was something like in HotU Campaign Chapter 2 where you have to turn into a pixie to get through a small hole in a "wall" to reach a lever that opened the door.

Small passages/transitions only usable by small characters would be neat, for example, holes in walls (similar to the jump/climb spots) or entrances to the lower tunnels. Search checks to find them would be cool too. These would allow halflings more ways to get around and spy on others.
