Eleasis 16, 151 Council; Agent Lathain Office of Herald, Spellguard Tower Regard Suspicious Seeker Activity
I over heard Councilor Shane's speech the previous dark. In it Shane seeks to reassure the people that the rebellion will be ended peacefully. I hear that Shane is favorable to giving into the demands of the rebels for an investigation into the Spellguard, an organization that has never been involved in illegal activity but a similar investigation is not proposed for the Seekers.
As a member of the Watch, I suggest strongly that such an investigation is necessary and cite the following evidence.
Ivylasar a suspected murderer still leads the Seekers. Evidence was not found for a conviction, but he it was a lack of evidence only that failed to convict him.
Ivylasar had close ties to the Ubel family which led the first major revolt within Sanctuary. Couple this with the Seekers ties in this second revolt and the image becomes very suspicious.
In capturing Sheriff Walters in relation to slave charges, the Seekers used excessive force culminating in the death of Watchman Borris. The hostility within the Watch over this death is sincere and powerful with no attempt yet made to publically look into the Seeker's methods:

"This has all been a big shock to us, and if it's true that Walters was involved in this slaving then good riddance. But Borris was murdered, and where's the justice? Do we really know he was a slaver?More importantly, those Seekers who went up there to get those files were using deadly force. Fezlkirn is dead, and a bunch of the rest of us were beat up terribly. We demand justice."

Furthermore, the Seekers procured several items of value to members of the Watch and likely took more than that. I am unsure the evidence has been handed over to the Spellguard.

Amblers sword was taken by Seeker Denten, as it was stashed in Eugene's chest when they found the papers. It is a sentimental item which shouldn't be used by a random adventurer.-Moonfall
Furthermore, the Seekers attempted recently to raid an armory containing several expiramental animatrons with their well known ally Tarnis Westwind. The stated attempt by all parties was to ensure the animatron got to the "people" and stayed out of the hands of the Spellguard.
The Spellguard is the only institution in Sanctuary with a charter for working on animatrons, and its unsure if the Seekers intended to auction their find, or worse yet grant it to the "people" of their Lower Council. Seeker Orison is already a suspicious individual who yells a battlecry of "For Sewer Town!" the well known nest of traitors who followed Montgomery Ubel and he has replaced his own arm with parts scavenged from an animatron.
This information is kept from the people of Upper Sanctuary, but the Seekers long history of consorting with traitors, suspected murderers, and outrightly working against the Spellguard is being ignored. They may feign cooperation, but its clear that either the entire institution or a small traitorous band within the institution is using the rebellion to further their own ends.
An investigation must be launched to salvage the image of the Seekers. I believe that Orison is acting on his own initiative, perhaps even working for the traitorous Ubels. The failure of Ivylasar to dismiss him tarnishes the entire Seeker organization. An investigation of the Seekers will allow the city to clear the Seeker's image and ascertain the truth of these charges and concerns.
Some of this information is the result of my own independent investigations. If the city actually declared the rebels to be engaging in treason and endangering Sanctuary, I'd already be issuing a warrant on Orison based on what I've discovered. An investigation must be held before the people of Upper Sanctuary turn fully against the Seekers-some have already contemplated a citizen's march against the organization.
Respectfully,
