*letter left in the Beacon with "Bern" written on

Bern, I am currently thinking about the rules we could have for the fund raiser tornament. I'd very much like it to be that the only weapons that may be used are: The rapier, a dagger, or for the smaller compediters, a short sword.

Also, no magic may be used.

No killing, of corse.

And i am going to contact the Order of the Penitent Heart and ask their involvment.

Suggestions?

Nym:

Contact the wanderer Wes. He's organised a number of successful Fight Nights at the Crone for boxers.

I believe his suggestions would be better than mine.

I hope things are going well with Cyrus. He really is rather dear.

Good dark,

- Bern.

*The letter was obviously written in a hurry.*

I'm set for the rules, need Cyrus's permission to use Crone.

then need help with advertising is Cyrus gives an "okay"

I understand that your Fight Night would involve blades, but logistically, I fail to see how this distinction makes one match significantly different from the other.

I believe the success of Wes' Fight Nights could be attributed, in part, to the advertising he did.

Good dark,

- Bern.

*a tierd looking Nym stubles into the Beacon and leaves this note on the table*

Bern. I dont want to get too many people i havent met before involved in organizing the event. Dont worry, it's a paladin thing. As for the blades, it takes away any advantage someone may have by skill with a weapon, however, if they are overly skilled with the rapier then they will be asked to use another weapon. Also, the rapier was designed for this kind of thing. _____________________________________________________ As for advertising, this is what i came up with:

FIGHT NIGHT The Beacon is currently organizing a dueling tornament in order to raise money in order to help those seeking refuge in it's walls. The prize money is a grand total of half of the total entry fees. Entry is only $5 worth of coins. Weapons will be provided for you if you dont have your own. Where? The event is being held at the crone after the last meal of the day on the third day of the week, and, if enough money is raised, it could become a weekly event! So come on, all are welcome, come and test your skill with a blade and earn yourself the title of *the advertisment stops here* _____________________________________________________

Need title, thinking along the lines of Beacon Champion, because this is ALL for the beacon.

Still, all comes down to Cyrus, COULD be held in upper, though i think the majority of participants would be living around lower...

Oh and Bern, you know, elves dont need sleep, instead we go into a meditative kind of thing. But still, i could use some help with hanging the flyers around if your up for it, as i have been too worried about failing to do the sleep-like thing in a day or two now. And please, you seem to know everyone, talk to Cyrus, he hasnt gotten back to me in days and well, worried.

Im going to wait around for Cyrus's responce, just going to hope for the best. Oh and, if you can send Wes a letter about it, please do, i'd rather just not go around handing my name out to people i havent met, as i told you when we first met; im overly cautious.

-Wishing the best, Nym.

Nym:

How is your caution specific to your vocation? I've never before met a paladin who did not want to meet everyone who is even loosely associated with the Beacon, almost to the point of rudeness.

Regarding your poster, I don't know what this symbol means, "$" please enlighten me.

I wouldn't promise a Fight Night every tenday unless you feel up to organizing it. By the tone of your last letter, I don't think such promises are wise.

That brings me to another point: humans do need to sleep. Between the daily upkeep of the Beacon, interviewing adventurers for tasks and the present state of Lower, posting bulletins will stretch my time too thin. I was pleased when you offered to do this, as I was under the impression that you could, either alone or with friends, manage to accomplish this.

Don't worry about fancy titles. Part of why I want the Fight Night to stay at the Crone is because the titles are already decided. The winner of Fight Night is traditionally referred to as the "winner" or "champion" and is entitled to the purse and bragging rights until the next Fight Night.

I repeat: find Wes and ask for his assistance. I've always found him to be quite helpful. Failing that, recruit some friends to help.

I've also always found Cyrus to be an agreeable halfling. While I wouldn't do anything so outrageously foolish as to offer him a share of the coin collected, I would certainly point out the business such events bring to his establishment. (Fight Night patrons usually linger in the tavern, drinking and singing, long after the ring has been mopped.)

Good dark,

- Bern.

P.S.: you are welcome to use the Beacon's main room to meet with the friends you find to help you with this.

//my sister is so prdictable in where she writes her password

Bern, i guess im just blaming the beacon for something else thats been going on. Almost to the point of rudeness? Sorry about the way i've been acting then, just, again, thng's have been happening that i dont want to discuss by letter. I'll still try to help the beacon but i cant be there to judge the events.

-Nym

Oh, and, if you know any memory-loss spells, that'd be great, i kind of need one.
