This feat is pretty much useless as far as I know.
Here's my quick suggestion, taking AD:D should decrease the chance of being scryied upon by Mage Eaters + Whatever else is lurking in the Underdark, so it functions like consuming Abjurer's Nightshade or wearing Spellguard robes. It would give a little incentive to actually take the feat and to my knowledge it is not overpowered.
EDIT: Changed Spell to Arcane!

Hmm... I'd second it Though I doubt even that is going to persuade many people to take it. I could be wrong though. But I agree this feat should be used for something at least, and thats a better idea than any I might have thought of.

Maybe Spell Focus: Divination, since Arcane Defense takes two feats and is -otherwise- completely useless.

Spell focus has already perks, while Arcane defense doesn't -as far as I know-.
Besides, it would make more sense that Arcane defense helps defend yourself from divination -thus mage eaters and such, which is not all that worthless.

Spell Focus does indeed already have some bonuses in-game. I support Arcane Defence: Divination giving some bonuses when it comes to detecting scrying attempts on yourself or reducing the chance of magic eater encounters though.
Edit: I did indeed mean divination!

Oooh, it could even have a percentage chance of misleading paladins!
