Project of Petition About Security

If you are a Sanctuary citizen you should, at least one time, suffered any offence from our security agents of the Watch. My intention here is not to banish them from our society but contribute with something that approximates their behaviour to a professional one. I want to have someone taking care of our city but I want to be able to trust them. Today, sadly, I cannot do that. I'm pretty sure that we have good soldiers in that organization, I think that the whole organization can be improved though.

My suggestions are:

1 - Someone, between the Council, should be chosen to be responsible for the Security matters. (Julian Fryar told me that everyone in Council is responsible for the security, but we know that everyone is pretty much the same as no one, I want a name, or two in charge of that).

2 - The Watch should have, always, a superior officer working 24 hours a day. Someone that a regular citizen could report in case of suffering abuse or offence of any Watch soldier.

3 - The Watch should have some kind of personality test before contrating anyone to join its corps. If they already have this test, it should be improved.

4 - The Watchmen should always work in pairs, in order that one could pay attention and control the other behaviour. This resolution could lead to some kind of corporativism between the officers. To avoid that, some kind of turn could be instituted by the superior Officer.

5 - The Watch should implement its book of rules and instructions to their soldiers or give them some kind of course in order to instruct them to work for the society and to make them understand that they work for the people and till a judgement is made, by the people prepared to that, a citizen is considered innocent and deserves respect. Even after someone is condemned this criminal still is a person and deserves respect. We cannot expect a no professioal behaviour from the part of the soldiers. They cannot behave like normal people and they cannot act like one. They must be able to control their impulses and be wise or they must leave the organization.

Citizen, be free to make suggestions, add or changing something.

Who is this man?

If you've seen this man...

Tell him he's an ignorent bastard who's never done a day's work in his life.

Tell him to stop hiding like a wimp and do something useful.

Then tell him to go away.

Watch out for this man, He's useless.

Sanctuary Watch

I don't believe that this declaration:

Who is this man?

If you've seen this man...

Tell him he's an ignorent bastard who's never done a day's work in his life.

Tell him to stop hiding like a wimp and do something useful.

Then tell him to go away.

Sanctuary Watch

was written by one of the Watch members. If so the problem is bigger than I've imagined. First of all I'm not hidding, my name's just after my ideas, the one that is hidding is that citizen which did not signed his name after his bunch of offences, Sanctuary Watch is no person name's. Secondly, I think I indeed made something useful, I've thought about improvments in our security system. My intend is to debat something. I did not attacked anyone personally, sadly the same was not done by the one who attacked me. I'd like to have some official position of the Watch Higher Comand, maybe an internal investigation if it's the case.

Sergeant Marshall

Why don't you talk to me instead of making stupid false accusations. I can't believe how funny these things you write are. You should work for a government.

This man is a criminal and should be discredited at once. The 'Watch brutality' he claims to have suffered consists of a serious crimes arrest he was handed by Private Schaeffer after he beat down a gnome who took a few minor baubles he was displaying in the floor of the Rock Bottom.

He is impossible to control, lawless and a heretic to boot. Believe nothing he says.

- V. Brackish

What this person say is not true. I did committed a crime, I did was arrested, but I did paid my time and I did paid the fine imposed by the Watch, so I'm not a criminal. These are two different things, commit a crime once and being a criminal. I'm not complaining about being arrested, I just want to talk about about how it was treated by private Schaeffer with abuse of power and personal offences.

Citizens, you can observe that no one here attacked or commented my ideas yet, they're trying to attacking my person instead. They're trying to transfer the focus here: discussing our security system. This is not what I intend to do here and this is not what I'm going to do. In this way I'll repeat my project below:

If you are a Sanctuary citizen you should, at least one time, suffered any offence from our security agents of the Watch. Let's not lower our heads to some members of an institution that should protect us instead of oppress! Enough of abuse of power!

It might interest you to know that the Watch does all in it's power to protect Sanctuary from any and all threats that face it.

It might interest you to know that if someone insults one of us, we really aren't likely to just ignore it all the time.

It might interest you to know that, funnily enough, if you commit a crime you are a criminal, even when you have served your punishment.

And really, it might interest you to know that we really don't like people who beat someone unconsious for picking a relatively useless item or two off of the floor.

Just so you know.

Private Sannen

Mr. Jovem,

I would prefer if you voiced your personal concerns though either arranging a meeting with an Officer of the Watch or Spellguard, or sending us a letter.

Public displays like this cause more problems than they solve. I'd be happy, when I am not busy, to meet with you and discuss your concerns. Either that or drop by the Watch House and make an appointment with an Officer of the Sheriff himself and I assure you they will find some time to hear your feelings. You'll be amazed what can be accomplished through a civilised discussion that can't be accomplished through public postings such as this.

Change does not happen over night, and it certainly does not happen through indirect petitions. As I say, both the Spellguard and the Watch take the feelings of the populace seriously. Only through compromise and discussion can we really make Sanctuary a better, safer, corruption free, place.

Regards,

Agent Lathain The Order of the Spellguard

I also find it ironic that he says for citizens to leave there own opinions and suggestions here then complains when he dosent like them.

Merle Barer

Miss Merle,

Indeed I said that, turns out that no one tried to comment my ideas. They only made personal attacks to my person. Of course that I don't like that. Make a commentary about my ideas and I'll accept it or not. Make a false commentary about my person and I'll answer back.

best regards

Answer to Private Sannen

It might interest you to know that the Watch does all in it's power to protect Sanctuary from any and all threats that face it. - I don't doubt that and I've never said that.

It might interest you to know that if someone insults one of us, we really aren't likely to just ignore it all the time. - Here I don't know if your calling my publical publication as a offence or if you are talking about being offended by a regular citizen and having the right to offending him back. If my first assumption is right, I'd like to ask you where (in what part of the text) I've offended you. If the second one is true, that's all the criticism I meant to do with the Watch: not being professional!

It might interest you to know that, funnily enough, if you commit a crime you are a criminal, even when you have served your punishment. - is that right? it means that I could be arrested at any time for now one? I'm still a criminal? Committed one crime and paid for it? I don't think so!

And really, it might interest you to know that we really don't like people who beat someone unconsious for picking a relatively useless item or two off of the floor. - I don't care about what you like or not, it was my property and I was defending it.

Again, no one of my ideas was discussed, just personal attacks!

Angus Jovem

Agent Lathain,

Thank you for your answer. I don't know you personally but you seem to be a wise man that also worries about our security system. My intention was not create problems for anyone, although I'm not a child to think that I'll not get any for me, since we have people here that wants to keep things just like they are. My idea is to shake our society, I'm pretty shure that many people think just like me but are affraided to do or say something. I understand that a private meeting with the authorities would give us some results but my intend here was to show to some corrupt soldiers that someone is watching them.

Best Regars

Angus Jovem

PS. I'll be happy to met you and discuss
