soliciting DMs: original quests/plots

I wanted to find out more about working with the DMs to do non-scripted quests. I imagine that although new scripted material is added many players reach the point where it is more interesting or appropriate to do something with the help of a DM. I wanted to know more about how to contact the DMs for this.

I imagine most of the contact should happen in game, IC, as needed, for example, by asking the DM to possess an NPC. (Rather than trying to establish some meeting time via email beforehand.) But this could get hard to coordinate when many people want attention simultaneously.

What do the DMs suggest as the best way to get their attention and make the most out of having them available?

Also is it better to have a group of PCs before trying to get a DM quest, or is it alright to gather them afterwards?

Thanks

For DM quests most times it's a "don't call us, we'll call you" issue. Many DMs will alter existing quests (ie spicing) or make a quest for groups they are viewing/watching/interested in and who are having good role play experiences. I enjoy watching players interact properly in character, and will reward it with spice and quests.

If you have a plot request you can apply for it via the email and application guidlines under the appropriate "applications" section.

If you want to get a NPC possessed, the DM channel is a good bet. If you have an idea for something specific you'd like to try, sending us a quick OOC heads up (through e-mail) or as a PM to the DM of your choice is also fine.
