Ferrington, Lathain, Archibald, Castille, Shane, Maeturorant

Eleasis 11, 151 Agent Ferrington, Councilors Archibald, Castille, Shane, Maeturorant Spellguard Tower, Townhall Regard Request of Recommendation

I recently determined that employment within the Watch will be beneficial to myself and to the city I seek to serve. Sadly, the Watch insists that you build a relationship with its members before they hire anyone. An unsatisfactory situation that is likely the reason corrupt men like Walters managed to encourage corrupt men like Kozamis to serve beside him.

Also with the recent spate of deaths, executions, and abanondenment at their posts, the Watch is lacking in numbers. As I seek to join, I'd hope letters to the Watch recommending my service will help me. I've asked several individuals who have reason to trust my honesty, integrity, and skills to write letters of recommendation on my behalf.

If you concur that I will fit within the Watch, please write on my behalf.

Respectfully,

Barrister Fawkes

*At the bottom of each letter is a list of things Fawkes has done for each individual.*

Ferrington (lists his services to the Spellguard, including the large spoiler he delivered, and the results of his investigations for Agent Lathain.)

Archibald (reminds him of their conversation and Archibald's offer to help him.)

Castille (reminds him of Cathbadh, the time they slaughtered hook horrors together, and their mutual commitment to magic for magic's sake)

Shane (reminds him of the time their experience catching the slavers that ultimately led to Walter's arrest.)

Maeturorant (reminds him how he took him out of an illusionary world and returned him to life and possessions.)

Goodman Fawks,

I often look for ways to repay the men and women that have done well by me, but to be honest, this letter puzzles me. I am uncertain as to what sort of recommendation I may give you that would help, as I know you very little, and as I do not have any personal contacts within the Watch. I am not adverse to sending a short missive on your character, though perhaps we should speak beforehand that I may say to those that may ask that you are not a stranger to me.

May I ask why it is that you wish to join the Watch so very quickly and under such circumstances? Why not build a relationship with a watchman that you may better understand the duty inherant with the position and better determine your place with them?

Have members of the Watch stated that they do not wish you to join their ranks? Find me and we shall speak of your desires in person.

Regards, Maeturorant Gorthaurca

I'll talk to the Watch on your behalf. Any man who respects the weave and is willing to lend his aid to the Society's Crusade is a good man in my book.

Mystra keep you safe, -Castile.

The Watch requires aid, and it needs it quickly. I think I explained that I have not seen members capable of sharing the time to meet me better, whereas I'd hoped my service to you showed my generosity, honor, and integrity. All traits a Watchman needs.

You will also note I've made a number of suggestions on how to reform the Watch, sent in seperate letters to the Council. It will give you an idea of what I represent. We can certainly speak further though, perhaps when you are also able to repay your financial debt to me. Best to kill two birds with one stone.

Respectfully,

Barrister Fawkes

Mr. Fawkes,

Enclosed find a copy of my letter of recommendation, which is also being sent to the Watch. I thank you for your service thus far to Sanctuary, and your good intentions.

Sincerely,

Alexander Archibald

Enclosed Letter Copy To Whom it May Concern,

Barrister Fawkes is a talented warrior, a well-studied arcanist, a gentleman, and a scholar. He is quite capable of providing the Watch with several of the things it needs most: extra manpower, wisdom, temperance, and fresh ideas. I am certain that his being immediately appointed to active duty would be far from disappointing.

Sincerely,

Alexander Archibald
