Honourable members of the Order of the Spellguard Mages

I am new arrival to this fair city and was recently informed of the Spellguard wards and the regulation of magic. I have studied Abjuration for quite sometime and I am intrigued as to how your wards work.

Is it the symbol that hides us from foul drow and tentacled illithid as it draws the inevitable magical waste energy from the weave, or are the walls themselves responsible? If you could sate an old arcanist's curiosity I would be most grateful.

I, Varius Leonard, am interested in the Associates program. I have resided here for a month or so, and have finally decided to give something back to Sanctuary after dwelling in relative safety. I am afraid I have stepped ahead of myself, gathering information while dwelling in Lower Sanctuary.

The traitor Tommy Ten-Irons has ordered me to see to removal of the Spellguard seal in Lower Sanctuary. Why, I do not know, the seal keeps us unseen from our enemies. I can act as a useful spy if you so desire and feed him false information. Please send word for me at the Rock Bottom inn.

Originally I thought Lower Sanctuary a true bastion of freedom, but now I see it for what it is, a Tyranny governed by Banites and insidious individuals with only their self in mind.
