To Iopnic Jum at the Pissing Crone

I, grimwarden Robin Widirbrook, faithful to Lord the Earth Urogalan, do commit to record the memory of the dead, with no impediment to truth. Withal, I do also record obituaries for public or private use. If you have any desire for such a work of any once person or creature, please make it known. As for now, I am only recently arrived in Sanctuary, and have put to earth only a few souls.

As my submission, I provide the following obituary:

On the 6th day of Marpenoth in 1372 DR, 5 svirfneblin unknown traders were put to earth in unmarked graves outside the Blue Mushroom Inn. All died from the loss of that life giving incarnate fluid, that escaped through wounds, which were dubbed by rapiers or swords, that were in turn held by hands, which were at the ends of arms, that were fastened to bodies, by shoulders, belonging to seafaring raider drow.

One drow raider was also put to earth.

The drow attack on the Blue Mushroom Inn was reported as a reprisal for the slaying of a drow captain, on the 5th day of Marpenoth, 1372, by Zerelde the Terrible of the Tigereye Mercenary company.

In remeberance of this event, I offer the following words and warning: Once indulged in murder, a man makes little of robbing, and from robbing he next comes to think little of drinking and oath-breaking, and from that to rudeness and procrastination.

Faithfully, Grimwarden Robin Widirbrook

I, grimwarden Robin Widirbrook, faithful to Lord the Earth Urogalan, do commit to record the memory of the dead, with no impediment to truth. Withal, I record these obituaries for public or private use.

As submission, I provide the following obituary:

On the 11th Day of Marpenoth, 1372 DR. 6 watchmen of the gate patrol were put to earth in marked graves on the southern border of the battlefield, outside the town walls. Two died from missing heads, two from blunted wounds, one from impalement and subsequent loss of blood, and one from suffocation,

The aberration attack on Sanctuary is reported as a counter-attack from illithids in the Sandy Caverns. A group of adventurers led by Durthag the Red of the Society of the Ordered Mind, on the 11th day of Marpenoth, 1372, had been operating in that area.

In remembrance of this event, I offer the following words: Adventuring is like picnicking, only without adult supervision.

Faithfully, Grimwarden Robin Widirbrook

Iopnic Jum hastily scurries into a room at the Pissing Crone, and quickly crouches down and rolls under the bed. Once he has hidden himself beneath that piece of furniture, he lets out a deep breath and begins flipping through his mail. As he reads through these particular letters, he mumbles...

"Oohhh, precision. This must fit in..."

A frenzied, long overdo reply is sent.

Grimwarden Widirbrook,

I've recently opened my bookshop, and taken the liberty of publishing your work. Please stop by some time to receive your payment. I do hope you'll consider sending some more articles. I will publish whatever you send me.

Sincerely yours,

Iopnic Jum
