Freeman Snorri:
Thank you for sending those copies of your letter. I wanted to read it thrice.
Do correct me if I misunderstand, but I am under the impression that you would like nothing to do with the Beacon but the monies it has collected:
"I have had quite enough you want to have a place called the beacon that is fine, i however am reforming the house of light, i would like the original charter sent to me also i would like the funds that where used by the members of the house of light for it's repairs returned to the respective collective pool. As i said keep your beacon."
While I would like nothing better than to turn the Beacon's meager coffers over to a complete stranger, it is quite impossible for me to do so. The coin we collect becomes food, medicines and blankets for the people of Lower. These would be the same people you and your peers saw fit to let starve.
As I have stated before, to you and the general public, in several formats, the Beacon's purpose is to feed and shelter the destitute, heal the sick and strengthen the bodies and minds of the willing. In some respects, it is quite similar to the former House of Light, with the notable exception that the Beacon is actually doing its job. If I insult you by pointing out the Beacon’s success, so be it.
As for insulting the dead: I actually took the name of “The Beacon” from the writings of one of your fellows, who wrote, “let this place be a beacon.” I chose that name in the hopes that you and your peers did, in fact, sincerely intend to help the people of Lower.
I hope the name rings true to those among you who still wish to see your gods’ will be done where it is needed the most.
I appreciate that one who seems so invested in rank and procedure would object to my interference, particularly as I was not appointed by you. The fact remains that, regardless of how I have come to be caretaker of this building, it has become an active centre of learning and charity in Lower Sanctuary. This is a radical departure from the building's previous life as a well-polished shell.
If, after reading this, you find you would like to contribute to the welfare of Lower Sanctuary, know you will be welcomed at the Beacon. If not, I suggest you contact Demitrius Bhast and his employee, Barrister Fawkes.
Good dark,
