To the town watch.

*Written on a clean piece of paper in the neat and familiar hand of the scrivener*

To whom it may concern,

On this day, the First of Eleasis, Year 151, 1373 DR; Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje the Grindsman, son of Ngugi the Lion Master, slayer of illithid, destroyer of drow and citizen of Sanctuary; formally requests clarification from the town watch regarding his current legal status.

He does formally declare that yesterdark, or thereabouts, he was confronted with a female from the city watch within the confines of the Rock Bottom. This lady of the watch asked him to stop moving, although he was at the time sessile for all intensive purposes. When asked why, she stated it was for a favour for a friend. Unimpressed by her obfuscatory exposition, he started to walk from the drinking establishment. At this point the watch lady made to strike at him with her drawn blade. Being nimble of foot and keen of eye, he sidestepped the attempted decapitation and walked from the inn.

This ended the matter on that dark. However he wishes to know if this was a simple shake down or if there was a charge directed at his person for some misdemeanour, which the lady unwittingly forgot to convey? Are there any current outstanding warrants for his arrest? Is he allowed to walk among the inhabitants of Upper Sanctuary unimpeded?

Please send any elucidative correspondence to Adewale at the Urinating Crone.

Penned by Bartholomus the Scrivener on behalf of Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje.
