A letter left on Barkely's desk at the Spellguard tower

To whom it may concern,

I've been approached by a friend of mine, who is the newly appointed keeper of the Beacon. She's considering replacing the floor, as the ruffians and gang members of lower have left the place in such a poor state, and mentioned this to me (presumably because as a merchant, I could supply the materials for this.)

It occured to me, however, that in the process of tearing out the old floor and putting a new one in, the Spellguard symbol would also need to be moved. Since the place will be open for the working crew, my question is this: to prevent it from being stolen by unscrupulous thieves, can we move this stone emblem to another, more secure, building for the duration of the work to be done, and still safely cast within the building?

Respectfully,

Chip, at the Pissing Crone

Mr Chip,

any tampering with the Spellguard symbol without direct Spellguard oversight is ill adviced.

Why is the work force of Councillor Bhast not working on this, within his building? They are well versed in dealing with these matters.

I suggest you contact Councillor Bhast in order for him to be able to properly maintain his building.

- Officer Barkely

(Both letters are forwarded to Bhast)
