His description says you can take the quest until level 5, but you can only take it until level 4.

Can somebody else confirm that you can't take it at level five?

According to the quest settings, it looks as though you should be able to take it if you're between levels two and five inclusive.

I've never been able to take it with my level 5 rogue.

For reference, you can only take the quest once, ever, with a given character.

I don't think that any of our quests have strict class restrictions.

Yes, I never took it prior to trying at level 5. I was going to at level 4, but then wound up taking a quest that leveled me and when I went back I couldn't take it.

So there is a chance that the code that requires you to take it only once is put in place *before* you accept the quest but while you're discussing the details. That could be what prevented me from doing it.

I've had trouble starting that quest as well. I had a NE fighter/rogue (Korath) who tried to take the quest at levels 2,3,4, and 5. Bilby always said "No." I haven't tried in a while though. I'll give it a test with a few chars though.

I think my housemate did it once last week. I'll check when he gets in. Though I believe he did have issues retaking it.

My experiences confirm that it's once-per-reset or maybe even less. Once I asked for the quest, was turned away, then it reset and I was able to take it.

Definitely looks like once a reset. I saw someone do it, then tried later and was turned away. I tried it with a lvl 4 rogue.

Yeah, me too. The only bug is that its once per reset. (once one did it, other cant do same reset)

I have literally not been able to take the quest (I have tried many times, with several minor chars) since June/July. Something is going on.

[Edit] Just did it with a lvl 5 elven fighter. So I don't know. Perhaps like was said, if someone is doing it, it doesn't tell you.

Okay, I've revamped the way the Bilby quest is handled for v833. It should behave properly now, which means that it should be able to be done:

By single characters (not groups). Any class or alignment. Between levels two and five inclusive. Only once, ever, per character.

I'm going to lock this thread, though I'm not confident that the issue is fixed. If it reappears, just start a new one.
