As my ass was handed to my today by a cleric a few lvls lower than my tank, I learned first hand that Divine Power has a bit of a bug. Rather than replacing your BaB with the BaB of a fighter, it seems to add them or something. Apparently it is standard to get three attacks a round at lvl 5... so wrongity wrong wrong.
Divine Power
The spell is working correctly-- the AB doesn't add, it gets replaced by the fighter BAB. The extra attacks come with the added BAB, if it's high enough.
I think what scrappayeti is saying is that at lvl 5, even a fighter wouldn't have three attacks per round, (unless duel wielding and hasted!) so the BAB must have gone way up.
The spell isn't bugged, the PC must have been hasted or wielding two weapons.
Or was in fact level 6.
Actually, the spell might not work quite right at level five. Yet it should work correctly at level six. I'll test!
Are you sure it was because of that spell? I can well remember my level 7 cleric on EFU and not even she did get a second attack when casting Divine Power (A level 6 or 7 fighter would, where as a level 7 cleric would not).
I tested it quite thoroughly so I am sure of that, it only upped the BAB for me.
I tested and could find nothing wrong with this spell.
Thank you for all assuming I am level illiterate (innumerate maybe? - whichever). The character was 5, and they had one weapon, and wasn't hasted. The character was played by a server veteran, whos name I wont *spoiler* here in case someone doesnt know about his/her extremely secret account name. We discussed it at length, and they said it happened often. Clearly I should have taken a screenshot, since there is such general disbelief. I did, however, look at the logs very carefully, and it went 2 attacks lvl 7 warrior, 3 attacks lvl 5 cleric for 2 1/2 rounds (then I was KO'ed).
Yes, I've seen this as well. It's very strange! I just tested it though and could not replicate it.
Just tested this out in game and noticed my cleric was receiving an extra attack per round after casting Divine Power. (3 or 4 attacks per round instead of 2.) Unless this is the intended effect? <_< I'm unsure on this actually.
Hm!
Can we just say that the way that it functions is the way that it's supposed to function? >_>
Yeah.
