That is what I am called now, the name I have given myself, I no longer carry his cursed name. It is funny how things turn out. Never would have guessed what awaited me, how much of a bastard that Tymorran piece of excrement was. They all gamble, they tempt her wrath and she will provide for them if they persist. The bastard never gave tribute to her, relying upon the whore's smile without paying tribute to the maid. The father had bet everything he owned on a foul hand, he was a drunkard, a fool and a wretch. Sandro Forestsmith was beaten that night, his father took his stupidity out on him, that was the last time he did so for Sandro Forestsmith had died. The father reaped the fullness of his folly from her and Sandro received punishment for his father's mistakes, tribute must be given less despair and misfortune is given in its stead.

I fled, I starved, I begged, I nearly died but was made a new with a new resolution. She found me there, I was given salvation with my despair. Long now I have served, called upon time and time again to give yellow through my mouth.

What is Yellow? It is the ability to say one thing and do another, to give a false feeling of trust and then, when they are most weak, their friend or their father, their mother or their son turns them in, makes them feel the same as I felt, as I feel now. It is a method and a means for giving what she provides, the most subtlest way for they lose all that they had trusted, and all they had earned and on the odd occassion their life. Yellow is betrayal. Yellow is my curse and my salvation.

She has ordained to me a task, a task that I am not sure I can do. Find a woman, one that I love and kill her in front of all of them, my "friends". Who shall it be? I dare not lie to her, my goddess, truth in falsity must be found.

The Depths The Priest, The Brother, The Twins, The Face, The Whore and The Yellow-Tongued are all that remains. We are being tested, or so The Priest says, Beshaba Provides misery and despair. I have not seen much of them, exploring this new dark as I am oft to do. We have been thrown into the Underdark by the Masks, they must have been scoping us out for a while, my infiltration did nothing to stop their attacks and I fear we provoked her by our constant "business".

I sleep in the Sewers of all things, temporary quarters I am sure.

You have one more to join you, Cadara is dead. I could not find the body and that bastard tiefling roams free. He apparently trusts me though I know he is unsure of my allegiances. I shall notify the priest, Kaen shall be betrayed and it shall be sweat.

Our little organisation is falling apart, Beshaba provides for us and I find myself lacking a stable base to profit from, I have no friends now that Cadara is gone. I need income, I need to spread misfortune to those bastards who never had anything hard in their life, they need doom, I need friends, I need power, and I need to leave this place once my little game is done.

CITIZENS OF THE FREE AND INDEPENDENT REPUBLIC OF SANCTUARY:

As we have known all along, the Upper Tyrants were nothing more than vicious slavers bent on enslaving us all. The truth has long fallen on deaf ears until a brave woman, loyal to the ideals of independence and freedom was nearly put to death for uncovering the awful, horrifying truth!

None other than Sheriff Eugene Walters, the man who controlled the Watch, has been put to death for the crime of slavery. He and along with many of his accomplices within the Watch, enslaved our children for profit so that they might better fund their organization of tyranny and oppression.

We, THE CITIZENS OF THE FREE AND INDEPENDENT REPUBLIC OF SANCTUARY, threw off their tyrannical bonds. Will those who live in the Upper Ward follow suit? Will those who live in the Upper Ward join us in FREEDOM AND INDEPENDENCE? Only time shall tell, but we have a more pressing matter on our hands. A matter that is even more threatening to us than slavery itself!

Hereby, I, Gorno Goldgoggle, gnomish wizard, request the help of those who strive for what is good and proper for I need their help. Away from here, but not too far away, vampires have been sighted and are gathering in a town long since abandoned; a cursed place of death and despair. Not only do their numbers increase with every passing day, no - there have also been reports of citizens going missing, two of which were known to me.

I call you, brave ones, to arms so that you and your brothers may help me in the daunting task of cleansing that abandoned town from the evil that lurks within and so that we, together, may rescue what is left of the two who have gone missing.

The numbers of vampires has been estimated to be about two or three dozen. I must stress the point that only the most trained and skilled warriors and priests need apply. There will be no reward in coins for this task. The Sanctuary's safety is directly threatened by the increasing numbers of vampires, so this is not a task done for gold, but rather, for a greater good.

So, paladins, clergy of the House of Light, and able adventurers... if you be brave, good at heart and willing, write to Gorno Goldgoggle promptly, for this is a matter of great urgency.

If these sources are accurate (They could be, the sun does not shine down here. Vampires hate the sun? The Sewer Town text "Melinda Bresley, that Bitch" also confirms it, but then there are texts that claim mushrooms will enslave us all.) then I can make a substantial profit off the Spellguard, and then betray them if they do not pay homage to the maid (May be I should just make an example out of them?) Melinda comes from this Vampire brood? It fits.

- Does magic really alert creatures to Sanctuary's presence? You would think all those pyres of fire would draw enough monsters to its walls. Seekers: - There are stories in this town that the Seeker's leader Ivlsar either stole all of Frederick Bresley's maps to the surface or killed him and then stole the maps. Is there any truth? The elf gives off a feeling of honesty but then I have been known for doing that exact same thing. Perhaps this is all propaganda with no hidden truth.

Watch: - I heard their Sheriff was executed for slavery and their whole joint investigated. Any other possible conspiracies? I must check the Sewer's writings more thoroughly. The Society of the Ordered Mind: - Bunch of shiny plates who have never suffered once in their lives, suckling from Tymorra's bitch teat. Why do they hunt monsters? Is despair so absent from their lives that they secretly seek to find it through death, suffering and possible thralldom? I should give it to them though my means at the moment are currently lacking, may be frame them with a crime? It would have to be large scale.

Frederick Bresley: -Did he make it to the surface? What was his path? If I find it will I destroy it or travel up it myself? Does anyone in this know how he escaped?

Lower Councilors: -I saw a Spellguard text that claims one of them worships a demon, can I blackmail any of them? They all seem far too brutally honest.

Mendrick Archibald: - He was killed, by who? May be the Councilor Alexander Archibald who was related to him somehow killed him to own the mansion?

Announcement Let it be known that yesterday there was an unfortunate loss to House Archibald. Lord Mendrick Archibald a long striving member of the Archibald family, and reputable friend and aide to many a man in the town, lost his life whilst working hard at his desk.

He was a renown scholar and historian, having written many of the tomes readily available for the populous to read and learn from. His presence will be missed by many, including his family.

Gnomes of Sanctuary: - How did they all die? Texts by Mandarin Dreagle are helpful, but is he reliable? How can I make a profit out of this information? Is there a sinister secret behind all this? Is Sanctuary powered by the souls of demons? Dancing Unicorns? Elf midgets?

Finding the pieces You mother, you who gave me life may be wondering how I will find the truth behind all this garbage. The first step will be finding power, luckily for me, this will be as easy as drinking down a bottle of good ale (A trait from that bastard, I know). You see, Sanctuary has a voting system, you can join the Council by preaching what the people want to hear. I will make up some nonsense dribble about funds, taxes and what not and get access to this Council. Sure, I will act as a good "Councilor" merely because I want to stay in power, but I want to play my little game of misfortune as well.
