Councilor Jarbey approaches the mercenary, handing him a letter and asking him to give it to the acting leader of their organization
To Whom this May Concern,
This day, Flamerule 23rd, I write you to ask your attendance at a meeting between yourself and the acting leader of the Lower Sanctuary footmen, Big Bill. It is time we organized the military strength of Lower Sanctuary in order to ensure a more effective defence against the many threats that face us. Write me back a time and day you will be available and things will be arranged.

Delain,
It's hard to say who is the leader now, but I did get your letter. I'll give you the rundown. Tidellious Dy'wick was once our Captain, an ambitious half-drow that used to be Tigereye. Daniel Tane, along with he claims Terio Menthur, both former Tigereyes themselves, killed Tidellious for betraying and killing the former Captain of the Tigereyes. After killing Tidellious, Daniel Tane took Captain of Golden Mercs and he were doing a damn fine job at it, till he up and decided to go for the surface with Casimir Grand. Since Tane was the strongest fighter I've seen next to Baelister, and a good negotiator, I got no doubt he's soaking the sun in Calimport as we speak. That's both of our hometowns, funny coincidence.
Anyway, Danny made me his successor before leaving. He said it to me, and apparently he told Wesh and Thrania also. He had his reasons at the time to name me over anyone else. His second-in-command, Dredge Ironsides, got a funny idea and decided to tell everyone he was the new Captain. Dredge says it's because he has seniority, and even though he's been around forever, he's been laying low for a while and waiting. Whatever. He didn't do shit for the Mercs when Tane and I were around, and that's probably why he was passed over. He's never showed his face or color of his skin, and he's real cautiouslike. Now I've travelled with Dredge and I know he's damn good at swinging that axe. I can't beat him straight up, and I can't kill him for his insolence without making a big mess, cause if I know anything about duergar I know they're harder to kill than a cockroach infestation in the Crone. Dredge might not be duergar, but as I said, I don't know for sure. So I'm leaving the Golden Mercs. Deal with Dredge Ironsides if you want, but know that pretty soon there isn't going to be anyone left in the Mercs but him.

Here's an old copy of our roster. Make of it what you wanna.
Daniel Tane
Captain
Daniel TaneCommander
Dredge Ironslide
Mercenaries
Frem Hill - Scout
Wesh - Scout
Tommy Ten-Irons - Warrior
Nihilanth Memnon - Wizard
Lucien Deauxfortes - Warrior
Tane ascended, Wesh might've gone with him. Memnon was murdered, and I quit. Luke could be quitting, leaving Frem, who's not seen at all for the last week. I interviewed a bunch of people about joining, but unfortunately I couldn't get them off the ground what with Dredge contesting me.
