Sir Alexander,
After cleaning out most of the Toboerski Mansion, and examining the facilities, I have come upon a few ideas for the transformation of the building into the Academy we discussed.
The entrance hall should be reorganized as a place to perform public ceremonies, to bestow honor or gift rewards for services rendered for Sanctuary. The statue of Miroslav Toboerski, who, as far as I know, was untainted by the later corruption of the house, should be kept, but moved to the side of the hall. The statue of Tagris Toboerski should be removed or placed in storage. Statues of other historical figures of strength and honor should line the hall, to remind us of the stories of great men.
The library on the first floor should remain, perhaps as a free lending library to those in seek of knowledge. A lending library seems a fine fit, due to the proximity of the pens, disturbing thosewho might wish to sit and peruse the books. I would like to keep the pens and the hounds, as they are well trained and have learned to respond to my voice and scent.
On the second floor, the barracks and storage rooms would retain their purpose. I would like, in some form or another, to continue in the ideal tradition of the Toboerski knights by housing some form of defense force for the city of Sanctuary. The large hall should be decorated with archery targets and straw men for training, with plenty of space left for training and sparring in the martial arts. Trophies of great battles could be stuffed and hung in this area.
The third floor, where Gregor's personal chambers and libraries are now, could be transformed into a magical library and space in which to study the arcane arts. Magical experimentation, study, and alchemy could all be practiced and taught in this space.
I would like for the basement to be left to my own designs, for the purpose we discussed before.
I would like to meet with you soon to discuss this and other matters, and to see whether my ideas meet with your approval. I also have a gift for you, a magical scroll of some considerable power, in exchange for the assistance and consideration you have shown.
In Strength and Honor,
Sir Baldev Cole
