There is an urban myth wandering around at the moment. It states that the best way to demonstrate that you are good with animatrons is "craft trap" skill. Is this true or bunkum? If its true, can it get put up somewhere were people will know? One of my characters needs to start dropping points there if it is so...
And can a DM answer dib's question a few below this one about spell focus? its a good question, but I dare not post in it for fear of mocking comments in my talking box.

Mechanics Changes
Craft Traps - Bioware crafting is not supported. However, Craft traps has been reassigned as Engineering/Tech Knowledge. Consider this skill to be like lore for technology. It is used with siege weapons and svirf tech for example. There are a number of places this is already used in the game.
It isn't specific to animatrons; in fact, it's more oriented toward conventional engineering and other forms of machinery/technology. Animatrons are complex and obscure. You aren't going to suddenly know how to construct or operate them simply by putting points into a skill. However, you will be better able to attempt to do so if you do have points in Craft Trap.

If you wish to be good at constructing animatrons the skills you should have are: Lore/Spellcraft/Craft Trap. As well as you should demonstrate and RP the use of these skills IG as often as possible.
