Curio Shop Suggestions

You can put suggestions for the Curio Shop here, specifically to honor particular NPCs and/or non-obscure PCs.

A Dungal Toboerski doll.

Um. i actually been in the curio shop before. ((don't know how but bare with me)) i think it is quite cool. maybe a My half orc's tounge managed to find it way in there?

((morbid i know but every thing in there is morbid EXAMPLE: a dwarf skeloton))

In England it use to be very common for executioners to auction off bits of rope or even parts of the body to the curious. It was in fact, considered part of the renumeration for the executioner and how they made most of their money for their job.

The "stones" that hit so and so in the cage, or the charred remnants of so and so, or the bone fragment of so and so would be a bit of an honor to those who got executed. I know heads are already impaled on pikes of course--but it'd be great to see a vigilante of Hoar who uses bullets that have already taken the life of a killer.

Perhaps even artifacts from NPCs in history, including the more vague ones but popular as well.

Such as Melinda Bresley's "practice sword" considering she combined sword and sorcery.

Items or diaries of old Councilors; I know its sad--but Vrirkuk tried to help steal the corpse of a former Councilor that had died and I 1) can't remember his name and 2) never saw any evidence of him having existed anywhere.

Squeagle's goggles? +1 search? I don't know if he actually -had- goggles, but I always pictured a funny looking, caricature goblin face when he emoted using them.

By the way, I love the whole idea of the shop. It's a great way to pay tribute to memorable characters.

Maybe some strange drow things? Like a small torture device or something? Or jewelry?

Ruza Maybe some strange drow things? Like a small torture device or something? Or jewelry?

I'd just expect that stuff in the drow shop.

The one in Fort Mur? I forgot about that...

Thomas_Not_very_wise Um. i actually been in the curio shop before. ((don't know how but bare with me)) i think it is quite cool. maybe a My half orc's tounge managed to find it way in there?

((morbid i know but every thing in there is morbid EXAMPLE: a dwarf skeloton))

Oooooh no, my Orc still has that :D

EVIL

Infact as of now, he wears it round his neck.

But back to business. Maybe some animatron bits, they don't have to be useful, but maybe particularly ornate bits, or very very old bits etc etc. There's a whole wealth of stuff you can play with there

......My charctor is gonna kill you

Everyone else has their own collectable trading card game. Let EFU have their own honouring all well known and famous characters alive and long gone. a lasting testimony to people hard work and good fun to collect too!

maybe have a animatron vending them for 75 gp for a pack of three?

Pixie on a chain!

The curio shop needs that!

I would really like to see the "pieces" of history show up, such as the aforementioned instruments of death, bones, "relics" of past heroes such as finger bones, arrowhead of the shaft that killed so and so, etc.

Last I checked I didn't see anything relating to Mylin and Michael Collier. Seeing as they were the heads of the House of Light I'd like to see them recognized in some way. Mylin's Holy Water? Collier's Sharp Red Cheese? (Collier spread sharp red cheese around Lower Sanctuary to feed the people)

[Edit: Are these PCs still alive?]

First off - the Ivandur themed lewt.

Ivandur's Rusted Hip-Flask:

A relic to the past of the one-time alcoholic Sanctuary Councilor, it's rumoured that this little hip flask kept Ivandur good company after some of his more controversial Chamber-meetings. The flask looks thoroughly dented, rusted, and well used.

Ironguts 2/day

Listed Price: 9,000 gold.

Raster would probably be one of the least known PC's of any entered into the shop, but he's worth a mention I think!

Shus:

Rumoured to be the disgusting ooze mephit familiar bound to the service of a man of no small scent, the reclusive and disgusting human named Raster. The Ooze Mephit is caked in what looks to be rat-feces, as it utters random non-sensical jibberish about the secrets of the old Dunwarren Sewer System.

((If Implemented Shus could be in some protective magical barrier or something, idle'ing inside the shop like the other whacky things.))

Listed Price: 15,000 gold.

Watch-Themed Lewt!

Private Snazral's Ashes:

Stolen and salvaged after the great Tigereye Barbeque that was hosted in Lower Sanctuary after Private Snazral Bertelbe was found guilty of Double-Homicide, one of the victims being the beloved Crone-Pit-Fighting boxer, Karick "The Crusher". The collected ashes offer a bleak reminder and momento of Tigereye Brutality in Lower Sanctuary.

Listed Price: 5000 gold.

If you have met Alonzo, you would understand...

Alonzo's Flamboyant Suit:

The gossip in Lower Sanctuary about Former Councilor Victor Hastian has always been rather ruthless in nature, and oftentimes contradicting. One thing most, if not all citizens can agree upon however, is that Hastian's live-in male friend, is much more than just a friend. This suit, belonging to Alonzo was found and recovered in Lower Sanctuary after a heavily intoxicated Hastian was seen prancing about in this, Alonzo chasing after him angrily, demanding his suit back! Hastian in turn, stripped the suit from his body, and ran nakedly all the way back to his private residence, the suit escaping Alonzo's hands to a mob of jeering onlookers.

+2 persuade checks. +3 perform checks.

Listed Price: 17,000 gold.

Naked Barbarians!

Karick "The Crusher's" Loincloth:

Popular boxer, and oftentime underdog in the infamous Pissing Crone's "Fight Nights", Karick's loincloth was recovered after the muderous Watch-gnome Snazral was brought to justice by the Tigereye Mercenary Company. Affectionately named "The Crusher" by some of his more obsessive fans, this magical loincloth is rumoured to have been worn by him without being washed until the Crone Championship belt would be his.

Listed Price: 9,500 gold.

Working on some other stuff, this is all I have for now :P

Hmmmm, this could be interesting. I know Yaster loves to collect skulls and heads, sadly I managed to somehow loose them all IG a couple days ago I had three heads, three skulls, an ear charm, a tooth charm, and a fish.

You could put in Samar's essay about Imperalism, just as lovethesuit for it. Have rare assemulations like Illithid tentecale or stuff to grow plants. *shrugs*

Caged crickets, and flowers.

The Captains Gauntlets....man did that ol' bastard hit hard....and fast. I still have bruises

A little bit of shameless self-plugging for the day. Valerius' charred remains? Valerius' oversized chared skull? Valerius' "special oil"?

In the vein of the Mylin or Ivander based items, how about the Ring of the Dreamer? I believe that was a rather significant odd item.

Mandarin Dreagle's Goody Bag

A leather belt pouch containing a jumbled assortment of pieces of dried meat. Belonging to the former councillor, the meat has a spicy flavour, yet oddly slimy texture to it. What exactly the origins of the meat is, is a subject of much speculation. Any who do know are unwilling to say, and none of those are willing to sample the befallen's delicacies.

Cause Disease (self only) 1 use/day

Price: 10,000

Kaddaz's Helm No wait, scratch that, he wouldn't take that thing off if it killed him

How about Dun Remember's horns?

I think it would be more interesting if people made suggestions for -other- player's characters, such as WcSherry has been doing.

That said;

Ivandur's Harmonica:

The Late Councilor Reynolt was often seen sitting at a specific table in the Rock Bottom, solemnly buzzing a sad rythym with little to no audience to speak of, especially after what most might consider stressful or dark days.

Aid 1/day

List Price: 10,000 Gold

Zau's Citizen Stone Necklace. Do what you will for item properties, he wore a chain of 30-odd bloody citizen stones around his neck.

prestonhunt Zau's Citizen Stone Necklace. Do what you will for item properties, he wore a chain of 30-odd bloody citizen stones around his neck.

Scripted so that where there is a city sending, you get thirty messages in your console instead of one.

A doll of the crone enforcer Valerius would be nifty.

I think more interesting items would be things that they are reknowned for, a quirk or some sort of momento that people who knew the characters could identify.

Things like Dolls are neat and everything, but they don't really have much value of any sort in terms of the character's memory.

I like to see momentos of major city events that a lot of PC's and NPC's in town would remember, rather than plushies of certain PC's. For example, the time Kiaring's tiefling was caught, and splattered in Lower Sanctuary...

Ubel's Horn:

Though most of the remains of Iryan Ubel were burned after the notorious "Fall for Freedom" trial, in which Iyran flung herself from the bridge to the Watch House onto the streets of Lower Sanctuary rather than facing what she likely believed would be a rigged trial - it's rumoured that this bottle holds some salvaged Horn-tissue of the demon-born Ubel bastard child. Though taboo in many cultures, it's said that the horn of a tiefling, when crumbled up and ingested makes for an incredible aphrodisiac.

When used:

Eagle's Splendour (3) - 10 charges/use.

Listed Price: 4500 Gold.

Marvolo's Clever Disguise. (helm)

+4 Bluff, +2 save vs negative energy, +2 concentration.

The Putrid Toe of Gaz'zak

The festering toe before you is that of the Goblin activist Gaz'zak Grungetoe. Known for his special stews and his demands for Goblin Equality.

Gaz'zak was Eventually stoned for his attempt on Councilor Tyrell's life, the toe taken as a trophy from the goblins broken corpse.

Contagion 1/day

7000GP

I'd like to see, if an item was brought, it was only buyable once until lost by that person really. Then they have real value.

Fish I'd like to see, if an item was brought, it was only buyable once until lost by that person really. Then they have real value.

It would be good if the dolls on the other hand are in mass production.

Fredrick Bresely Dolls by the truckload! And also a short grumpy Ronus doll.

I don't mean dolls, more like "Someone's" gloves, and "someone else's" cloak, etc etc.

Seeing all the rich people use Gaz'zak's toes would be kinda stupid, i'd have to agree.

ALthough the DM's would have to confirm, I would be honestly surprised if that wasn't the case

I'm sure this can be pursued IC, but a lot of money can be made by grabbing whatever's left inside the Tigereye Fortress and selling it to the Curio shop. Patrick's crystal ball, Namli's tankard, Zerelde's sketch and Majre's harpoon gun come to mind.

- K.

Waaay ahead of ya. Already pillaged a silver tankard from there. And Caddies said it was only worth a couple of gold coins back then :P I think the said silvery item still shows ingame.

The Charred Heart of Kyle Briar. I am not sure if this item is still in circulation, but it was Melrick's most cherished item. Probably the least useful of all the DM items he received, but it held the most sentimental value due to the pivotal moment in his life. It was also a great RP tool.

Well...if the curio shop is buying dead characters equipment, Kaddaz could walk in and make a bundle.

Would it be possible to put items needed to make a camp fire in the shop? In case anyone decided to have a little fun with his/her newly bought doll >_>

It'd be nice if the doll's had more detailed descriptions. Also, Mylin made a pair of rings for her and Rilo that glowed and had inscriptions, those might be fun to have. Can't remember exactly what they were supposed to say.

One ring to rule them all, probably.

Somethin of Leon Belmont, maybe? I only joined a few days before his death and i heard loads about him.

an interest doll of a woman dressed in really tacky cloths with a sting on it's back side when drawn it shouts in a high squelling voice "oh how adorable!"

Kor'us bow:

Elven Court Bow (though a fake, so -1 to hit/dmg)

Time to unearth this thread, now that some time has passed I'm looking to add some more things.

(Of course, the Curio shop has moved, but it's still out there).

If anyone has any suggestions for noteworthy PCs, please make the suggestion. Please do -not- suggest one of your own PCs.

We need something from clan duregar now that they're gone. Not sure what, but something....

Some sort of sack, maybe?

To commemorate all the supplies delivered in their name.

Thorigan's Full Plate..... Wait doesn't Kaddaz have that... :P

Somthing for the Duregar clan...

What about the head of Burra's daughter?

....bit much?

The Tongue of Hraf'n

Description: This preserved tongue was cut from the corpse of Hraf'n, warrior skald of Garagos. It retains the sharp acidic quality it always had, still commanding mirth in even the most taciturn of fellows.

8000 GP

Tasha's Hideous Laughter once/day

-------------------------

Kara's Dark Heart

Description: This twisted black wrinkled sack was once the heart of Maskarran tiefling Kara, a troubled soul dominated by a dark master she thought her friend and tutor from childbirth.

18000 GP

Dominate Person once/day

-------------------------

Iris of the Witch

Description: This eye once belonged to the witch Imnan, a vile woman whose contemptuous stare was as perilous as the Flame she served.

15000 GP

Combust once/day

Leon Belmont's Fire Barrel- This barrel of alchemist's fire is named after the Paladin Leon Belmont who is noted for giving his life to save the Temple of Hoar using explosives. The barrel bears a tag that reads "Authentic Leon Belmont grade fire barrels, guaranteed to pack a punch"

7000 GP

As soon as the Grunstubhles are caught, we could toss Fathand's rings in there for sale.

I would love to see something about Tobias Breen, as he had a major influence on EfU. Something spider related? Maybe something related to the artifact stolen from the drow or his staff. Just throwing some ideas out there. Also would like to see something from most if not all the major villians. Zau, first and foremost. Valentino Augustine aka "The Maestro." Maalgor. Squeagle.

Breen already has something in the Curio Shop; as does Zau, and I'm fairly sure Maalgor does too. (Nevermind that his head remains spiked on the gate in Upper). No objection to a Squeagle relic. His goggles, maybe.

Everlasting Eyes (helmet)

These were stolen from a Drow City but their true origin is unknown. Sanctuary has sense been able to replicate their remarkable abilities.

Dark Vision True Seeing Ultravision (1per day)

25000 gold

Not overpriced enough. Those are actually worth buying for that kind of money. Add a zero, and you're there, though.

Remember:

Flavoursome > Phat.

Also, loot related to retired characters - not just item suggestions. Any suggestions that don't suit this thread will just be summarily deleted.

Didn't Grundigle have a necklace of ears and eyes, or am I getting confused? If so, that would be quite cool.

+4 spot, +4 listen anyone?

Crystal Ball Shard

A crystal ball claimed by Patrick Kegan, a Tigereye Diviner, during the height of their fame. The ball was shattered during the revolt and several shards made their way about Sanctuary by urchines and wealthy alike, each shard havig different properties left within.

10,000 --- Mustache Wax

A slick wax used by Terio Menthur to keep his appearence professional and cool, the faded label reads, "Wax promised to keep your life un-lax!"

Eagles Splendor 1/day

More to come!

The Pixie on a Chain. I loved that item, I can't recall who had it originally but it was Mandarin's prized toy until he lost it.

I think it originally belonged to Maddocks, in all her drunken slutty glory.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch..

Balk's Sanguine Rag

Salvaged from the now abandoned Tigereye Fortress, this bloody rag once belonged to the heavy-handed Tigereye mercenary, Ezekyle Balk. But one scent of the crimson fluids contained therein is enough to incite a murderous rage in the most placid of people.

Blood Frenzy (7) 1/day

20,000 Gold

Effeminate Handkerchief

Description: This pretty handkerchief once belonged to the charming yet girlish young man, Jones; known for his fanatical idolization of Bresley and his devotion to a Surface he never got to walk. His handkerchief, stained with fine wine, was a common sight during many of his stirring and passionate oratories.

17000 GP

Eagle's Splendour once/day

Mbizi's pipe weed. The Seeker Mbizi was known in Sanctuary for her strange looks and sharp tongue. This weed was grown and smoked by the Seeker in her favorite pipe. The Seeker has long since abandoned Sanctuary for the world above, never to be heard from again. When lite this weed produces such a strange smoke you wonder how the Seeker was ever able to use it.

Pipe Weed: 1/Use Per Day - Poisonous Cloud (ie Chocking Powder).

8000 coins.

Club: Baelaras Peg Leg

The scales of fortune are hardly even, and Baelara being an half drow, bastard child of Traensyr could truly vouch for this, having felt the sting of misfortune one too many times. Still she marveled the audiences that flocked to her performances both to witness her talent as well as to gawk, with morbid admiration, at her scarred face and mutilations. Her talent as minstrel was only surpassed by her caustic disposition.

The above post is my submission, got timed out writting it.

Edit: Get the feeling I didnt do full justice to Gendar this is meant to add to the text above:

Rumour has it this man was so mighty he could swat away even magic with his bare hands.

Some things of particular note for the Curio Shop I find interesting are:

-Items that belonged to characters that had very public deaths/murders/stonings.

-Momentos that memorialize heroic acts in the midst of wild invasions.

-Items that help us all recall the interesting, and unique quirks that often help shape and define some of the neatest characters that have been seen on EFU.

Anyhow, I really think the Curio Shop is the neatest shop on EFU, and it isn't even close. Keep the items coming :)

Kaddaz has been retired now, so if you wanted, you could use the items he had equiped, which all belonged to -other characters-

Jozan Sila's Shield May Nightwind's Longsword Arthan's Helm (Not the one Kaddaz normally wears, but he has it) Thorigan's Armour (Though Kaddaz has taken and somewhat bashed it into an unrecognizable form)

As Sherry mentions here, the best items for Curio Shop additions are the ones which highlight the unique characteristics of EFU PCs. So lets try and make sure that if you make a suggestion, you do it in the right format and ensure it's as flavorful as possible.

And it's much more tasteful to honour other characters you had the privilege to play alongside, rather than your own.

Melrick's Mellifluous Tongue

A shrivelled tongue floats on a liquid filled jar. According to the label it used to belong to the Knight of Toboerski and Councillor known as Sir Melrick, despised by many, feared by even more, that disappeared among the wave of suspicious circumstances surrounding House Toboerski's downfall. You can almost imagine it squirming trying to utter a secret or two.

Orisons Arm

An inanimate animatron arm Seeker and Lower Councillor Orison Hallafat was a child found by the people of Sewer Town lying in a pipe: he had been born missing an arm. A friend built him a replacement using animatron parts, which served him well untill his murder at the hands of an unknown party. The arm now sits eerily in sasis, although you get a feeling of unease that it could lash out at you at any moment.

Knockdown 1 Use/Day

Aegnor Cempa's Spirit -

A small glass ball, bristling with energy. Inside you can almost see a weary and violent face, roaring loudly, and you can almost hear an angry battle cry. However, when you attempt to concentrate on either, they fade away, and you cannot hear or see them any more. "AEGNOR CEMPA" is printed on the side in thick block capitals, and it is obvious this sphere is made with powerful Magic.

Vero Whitecloak's White Cloak

A name famous in back alleys as that of an influencial Sanctuary underground figure. Little is known about this man and those that do, usually keep it to themselves. Its hard to determine if this man actually possessed a white cloak, but this piece of fine cloth none the less carries his name.

Thazar Vrask's Staff

This handsome staff would frequently herald the approach of the Thayan wizard Thazar Vrask by bathing all in his vicinity in a deep crimson light. The source of the illumination is the small ruby, lightly enchanted by his peers on the surface, that is mounted on the top of the staff. A number of rumors surround this - including whispers that the light would flash if an enemy were nearby or would glow brighter when Thazar was in the company of one of his favored mistresses.

Though the Thayan was many things to many people, a number of those he met considered him to be a well educated and cowardly opporunist. This was especially evident in his tendency to hurl the occasional spell from well behind the front lines with his apprentices as his well trained Thayan knights and the tribe of orcs he hired for protection did his dirty work or his habit of simply vanishing from sight and letting his companions fend for themselves if the enemy seemed too potent.

I remind people to please not suggest items for their own characters. I'm going to go through and delete posts that are doing this, but if people continue to do so I may well hand out a forum ban also.

Spencer's Crossbow

Recovered from the burning wreckage of the Rock Bottom Tavern, This crossbow is rumoured to be the legendary weapon kept by Spencer behind the counter to deal with trouble-making patrons. Although it was in a fairly poor condition before the Rock Bottom collapsed, the state it's in now is utterly terrible. However, the connotations that this emblem of innkeeping has is worth more than any military purpose it might once have served.

10,000 GP

Bump. I'll be updating the Curio Shop, so some new suggestions are welcome. As per usual, please don't recommend items that pertain to characters that belong to you.

I would love to see many more dolls, such as a Spencer doll, Ilvysar(sp?) doll, Sherrif Fawkes doll.

Only i cant think of witty and cool descriptions for them. :P

Ivylsar has some stuff in the Curio already, as does Fawkes.

I'm expecting the worth of Ivylsar's paintings to jump up in price, as post-humously an artist's artwork is worth exponentially more.

Spencer's old banged-up under-the-count piece would be a nice addition, assuming it isn't somewhere else.

Please refrain from making superfluous posts on this thread. They will be deleted!

I Tooth's dead?

What about Tooth's Watch armor/rod since he had killed so many watch members, some shady smith made one, which looks the same under Tooth's name.

Since I barely knew Tooth, the item and it's properties should be decided by others, the armor/rod is just a suggestion.

Tooth's teeth?

No idea what effect they might have other than maybe something intimidate/fear based...

It's a use-on item, it can poison food, drink or potion ;)

What do you think?

Tooth's Teeth are already there. :X

Death Tooth's Tooth

Both Fearsome and infamous, this lone jagged incisor once belonged to the deadliest one-legged goblin in all the Underdark, Death Tooth.

Poison 1/day

I don't know much about the guy. Only saw him once IG, but he is (one of) my idol(s). Feel free to improve the description.

Baldev Cole's Shadow Through powerful arcane magic this vial contains the very shadow of Baldev Cole, a half-drow that became a devout supporter of the shadow dragon, Etorix. "Oversized Novelty Token"

Item Description:

An oversized coin that is gold in colour, but does not weigh enough to be made from gold. On one side is the image of a gnome with a large smile on his face, bending over and smacking his own rear. On the other side is the image of a face with it's tounge sticking out and hands on either side of it's head making moose ears.

There is a card attached to the coin that reads:

This token is to commemorate the Great Underdark Farce.

No one knows what the Great Farce was about, only that the gods themselves conspired to place a horrible joke upon all living creatures.

Some say that the Great Farce was the declaration by the gods that the Underdark was to be destroyed. Others say that the gods themselves appeared as penguins and gave out candy to all those they met. And whoever ate the candy turned into penguins themselves.

No one knows the details of the Great Farce, only that the gods laughter could be heard the world over for years afterwards.

*Item abilities* Use one time a day- Tasherons Hideous Laughter

There is no listed price for this artifact. When you ask the merchant what the coin is worth, he makes a sour face and mutters something under his breath that sounds like, "...go find the Eee 'eff gee, if you want to know, you soddy wanka....."

Worn's Sword

This is the broken greatsword of 'Uncle' Worn, the controversial Seeker, Councilor, stew salesman, and (according to rumors) an avatar of Urdlen, the dreaded gnomish deity of slaughter and destruction.

Only about a foot of the sword's wide blade remains, and which of Ferius Worn's many enemies is responsible for breaking it is unknown. Ever the practical scholar of warfare, Uncle Worn carved relatively advanced instructions on the use of a broadsword onto both sides of the damaged blade.

The hilt is wrapped in a bizarre red leather that bleeds all over the hands of anyone who picks it up. Accoring to popular Wornlore, the substance was the skin of a demon he strangled, skinned, and stitched into a suit of armor, although it could simply be the result of using cursed dye on normal leather.

-2 attack bonus Weapon Focus: Longsword

That Scalebane fellow has the right of it. Listen to him!

Hahahaha, as if someone would pick Weapon Focus: Longsword and then use a two-handed sword a cruel DM gave him...

WAIT A MINUTE

I don't believe Mr Worn ever used a longsword. He was just too awesome for such a small weapon, as it wouldn't compensate for his small feet.

Citizen's Stone

This citizen's stone dates back from the days they were still handed out without having to go through any complicated procedure. They look and serve precisely like any other, without a name carved into it.
