criminals and bandits...

here is a big complaint and i hope it is adressed, though in all good spirit, there is a serious lack of criminals in sanctuary and the surrounding area, monsters are plentiful but actual bandits, outlaws, theives, muggers, murderers, etc, are never to be seen. I think (dms) randomly throwing a balanced outlaw party at PC party would be fun to do if possible, i would imagine its not hard or time consuming to do... im really surprised i have no had one give me your money or else encounter so far... my 2 cents. If you dms did this 2-3 times a week, it would get around fast, and people would know, hey the bandits and smugglers have been getting really outragous, and would create plenty of fun RP and counter RP and branching story (ie the defense force is assigned to patrol certain hot areas, and it starts turning into a mini iraq, stuff like that would be immersive rp fun...)

btw the game is great, spice is great, dms know what to do and how to make the game fun,

I agree in lower there could well be gangs in lower that mug, but normally this is left to the players to do.

well. if lower is a lawless area can we have at least *one* hostile encounter in the alley ways where those goblins are. seriousl people hardly go there they make good hideouts

I would rather encourage players to organize gangs and groups of muggers, slit-throats, etc. In fact, I think there is already one in the making. ;)

A) Monsters would eat most lowly bandit types in the wilds.

B) DMs, when they have time, do indeed have events in Lower with some nasty folk doing nasty things to PCs.

B) There are a lot of sneaky bad PCs out there who will PvP you and take your loot. Not as many right now as there have been, but they are there.

I'd like to add the following.

Right now, there's very, very few PCs causing drama in, or outside Sanctuary. Why should NPCs take the initiative!?

It's much more fun to chase down a PC eitherway, so if you enjoy these sort of things so much, make it happen. EFU 's only boundry is those the players set.

No matter how much I enjoy some DM-rough-up from time to time, you can't honestly expect them to drop criminal war-bands around the Underdark.

Want fun? Make fun! DM's only have salt and pepper to spice it. (Metropack also has red mexican pepper. )

i think groups of bandits would be appropriate, as a lonesome bandit as a lonesome adventurer would most likely be eaten quickly. at least do something to make lower and the area directly surrounding sanctuary more dangerous... ive heard a civilian npc say something like that he doesnt leave sanctuary because its so dangerous...

i think if dms did this every once in a while (its notlike it has to be a totally unique event, getting questioned and then possibly mugged by a group of bandits), it will jsut reinforce the danger and uncertainty of the city, and definately bring bakc the survivalist, x number of bad things could happen to me at nearly any moment feel that has been lacking lately.

it would add great rp and immersion to hear warnings of bandit parties preying on lonesome or weak groups of adventurures (though this doesnt have to actually happen, you can just SAY they are out there, dont want to grief noobs), and have them attack lerger higher level groups. i could imagine myself telling stories to your mates about how you and your friends showed those muggers up for trying to steal your gold... etc

simply, i dont think i have ver seen a pc do anything illegal, especially something as seemingly common as mugging. hey if a pc group is working on it, GO FOR IT, i love to paly as good characters so i doubt i will join, but it will definately add lots of fun and immerision to my game, thanks alot crew :)

woops that was me ^^^, also i would like to add that i dont think i have never fought a NPC human/elf before... i think an addition of more organized crime would definatly change that heh.

I'm going to agree with Obedience here. If you feel that there should be a few more muggers out there, you will find no shortage of scum wanting to make a quick buck. get a few people together, you'll have your own muggers in no time.

the thing is cluck, i really enjoy playing good characters, so i would not participate int hat activity... but having that danger and quick thinking (very immersing for me, having to decide between fight, flight, or negotiate in about five seconds, i usually am in the leader position, so this is something very fun for me, your decision could very well mean the lives of your entire group)... i think you get the point, i hope both DM's and PC's check this thread out and agree...
