Sent on a rather expensive piece of parchment, a letter arrives at the Council officies carried by a small boy found playing in the street. It was sent by a friendly women in a white dress for a few gold not long before. The letter itself is tied with a small ribbon, neatly, and then sealed with just dried wax. The seal it carries is a circle carrying no insignia in the centre.
The handwriting is large and fancy, carrying many loops and curls, showing a heavily educated background or possibly a paid scribe.
letter Esteemed Councillors,Given the new time of calm upon us, it has come down to a position of choice once more, whereby the community must be helped in such a way that our future can be moulded carefully by the hands of keen craftsmen.
Now is not the time for sword and shield, although it has not passed. Now is the time for word and song. We must sieze this opportunity before we are distracted elsewhere by problems caused from hesitancy.
A facility of education will be opened and it will have arms wide to those of all backgrounds, to learn of the past, of the future and of the way of the wise. We will can enlighten the young mind to problems which can be avoided in their time to come, as those who will continue to protect and nurture the town after we are passed.
I am aware of plans for a council operated academy, but I see, beyond funding, issues with the gain of this instution. Namely, if such a place was open to all, it would be seen to be controlling by the ignorent and so on who are against the council. They would say it would be used to brianwash their children, and besides the orphans, they would probably not send their children to the facility.
I believe in times like this, such a place should be managed independantly by a body or individual who should be seen as someone not attempting to gain control of the wellbieng of the town and who just wishes to be forward thinking and perform the tasks ahead.
Having someone seperate to assess and control this place would free up time that would be put into the council's hands, give an image that no major faction is trying to push their values and make it more viable for those that wish to use it.
Men and Women of lower sanctuary especially would look more favorably on a house which the council, beyond donations has no real hand in. Nor the spellguard, Nor the Watch. Even they'd probably like their children to learn some skills, even if it's sewing or tanning, to manipulation of the arcane or scolars of the word.
Given the unfortunate events with previous Councillors Toboerski, it would be a great shame to close their home to dust and time, when it can be changed to accomodate the now.
Five Thousand gold has been freed up in order to cover construction costs, as well as fees towards employed people to aid in the operation of the place.
Donation requests will be proposed to all major factions of the town to put forward the small sum of one thousand gold each. More is welcome, but I don't believe neccesary. Noone will be under any obligations to assist, but it would be in the Council's interests to aid by considering the future of bored children sitting in refugee camps.
A tired mind wanders.
In the mean time, I will be contacting artisans, craftsmen and others interested in assisting in this project. I will leave two days first for you to consider this proposal first before I do. More details will be sent in the near future.
I will contact you at that time once more.
