My dealings with the lord of the kobold city have taken a rather drastic turn, the wizard has revealed himself to me in a most unexpected way, and I can vouche that his power is far beyond what even I had suspected. In truth, he is not a wizard at all but something far greater.

He has made an offer plain and simple to our city. He will defend us in our time of need if we pay him a monthly tribute. I do not like the idea of offending him as his wrath is something we must seek to avoid.

I would like the opportunity to sit and discuss all of this with you as soon as possible and I can explain the situation further. These delays can last no longer. I'll find you in two days time.
