I am new on this server and what chocked me first is that many players drop alot of stuff on the ground, I have heard it make the server lag and needless to say this server lag often and even crash.. so may be the solution is to add many trash bins in city and urge players to destroy their extra items there.. Also adding a NPC who buy all stuff even for a low price would push people selling their extra stuff rather then polluting the environment...

We have multiple trash bins around the city. If you have somewhere you want to see one added drop it in a suggestion.

We also have garbage piles that are designed to drop trash into in case the less-fortunate... or greedy want to dig through it for anything. The garbage piles are near the Inns and the Trashcans are loacted in various well traveled areas.

As for the merchant, I think this was intential so that people wont just sell off all their loot, and it will get moved around more.

You see trash littering the ground some 10-15 meters away from the nearest bin in real life, too. Some people just don't care. Although in this case, it might also be that they simply didn't know dropping stuff on the ground creates lag.

That, or you saw a party dividing the loot from a quest, which is entirely normal and only temporary.

I don't think there are too few trash bins anymore now that even places like Fort Mur and Blue Mushroom have trash cans. Can't have them growing out of random locations out in the Underdark, either.

Yeah, unfortunately people leave things on the ground, but there really is plenty of trash bins (and piles). Personally, I just pick it up and throw it away, unless I'll be encumbered (which I suspect is the major motivation for things being left on the ground).

Maybe small "bottomless pits" could be placed around in the wild that act just like the trash bins.

Maybe even a DM could decide that one leads to something's lair and it gets pissed people keep dumping junk on top of it?

If there is a specific area that needs trash bins, please point it out.

Otherwise, I think that most of the main areas have trash bins scattered throughout.
