Councillor,
What follows is my sworn testimony on the events leading up to the death of Whitecloak.
A small group of us, consisting of myself, Doomsayer Adriana Lakes, Osmyr ap Marko of Pyne, Daniel Tane, his man Tommy Ten-Irons, Vlaidt Goresh, had heard rumor that Whitecloak had been spotted in the tunnels beneath lower. We set out to find him, searching the tunnels and various hideouts without success.
Finally, at the Pissing Crone, we were told by the barkeep - Cyrus that a halfling that had appeared there - Sugo had tried to bribe him, allowing Whitecloak the chance to take all our lives within the bar. Cyrus refused, and sent Sugo out into the streets. We immediately set out to find him, eventually running into Whitecloak in the tunnels, where we engaged him in combat before he escaped.
After more searching, we finally found Sugo in an abandoned house, and subdued him. We brought him to the temple of Hoar, where we questioned him. Without warning, the Door opened, and only by virtue of a potion of seeing was I able to tell that Whitecloak himself had arrived, his spear and manner being quite well known. He attacked, as did I, and he was quickly subdued by the accumulated mob.
He was questioned by Doomsayer Lakes, and admitted guilt in the slaying of Councillor Toboerski, as well as several others whom he felt a debt of blood with. He cursed the temple of Hoar in the name of something called "The Shadowlord", summoning a vile energy of negativity, and was struck down by the power of Hoar, as channeled by Doomsayer Lakes. Thereafter, I delivered the parts of him you saw to the town hall of upper, along with Councillor Toboerski's office key.
I so swear that what is written here is the whole and unabashed truth, as represented by my signature.
