Inns are suppose to be focal points for the city and meeting people; yet they currently tend to congregrate in one specific inn.
To counter this I'll steal some ideas Arkov/Howland sent me when I use to run a server and re-present them.
1). Tie metafactions to the various inns more carefully; lower costs to rest at your metafaction inn.
2). More activities in the inns
a) Cyrus should buy the Gambling Hall and relocate it to his establishment.
and/or
b) Add more minigames to the inns, so players can hang out in them when they're the only person online/in town while waiting for someone to show up they can interact with--things from drinking contests, riddle contests, to Thomas letting you "stitch your own zombie!" that you can then pit against other patron's zombies "PC to NPC", or gladiator combats you can bet upon at the Pyrimo, even a "beat the goblin" contest at Mur where a particularly well padded goblin is put in a corner and you get to hit him as much as you want for 30 seconds; do enough damage in that time and you win a special prize!
c) put the Sewertown inn and the rat races in the same room, so again you can hang out there making bets until someone comes in.
This would help alleviate that situation where you log in with 3 or even 18 people online and they're all out of town or doing quests and you've got nothing major to do until they happen upon you idling at an inn.

If it doesn't cause lag, seconded.

It won't cause lag, keep the stuff on different maps and just move transitions to access them to the inns.
The Rock need something too but I'm not sure what. Personally I'd like to see mister I'm-rich-but-reside-in-lower-where-rich-people-don't-go-Ghail to maybe move his workshop to the rock where people can sit and design expensive dresses/robes and various others. In a strange way, that is quite satisfying to do.
Not sure what else could be added there that wouldn't seem out of place.

Rock Bottom could have random merchants showing up. Spencer is already renting some rooms to merchants, so that could give you something to do: he'd just have to stick the merchants on the floor currently with rooms and move the rooms one up--so you have to go past the merchants (and a shopping PC) on the way to your room.

He could have a rentable room for a PC trader, as well as specialist shops for people who are uppersanctuarians. Yeah good idea.

Wow. I love all of these ideas. So many times I end up wandering around the server when no one is around. These simple additions could add a lot to the server.

I love the padded Goblin beat-down game idea. It would create some good RP moments and ethics issues.
It would be nice if there was a way to have 4 different leveled NPC fighters that we can choose to spar with. We would have a dialogue with an Agent where we select which NPC to spare with. The NPC we choose to fight would then be changed to Hostile and would attack as soon as we get x feet away from him (something like that?). The goal of course is to eventually beat the Master of the group, maybe even getting a small reward for it, a one-time Magic Weapon Enchantment rock or a distinct Helm or Shield that can only be had by beating the Master.
An archery game could be held in much the same way where we choose who we want to compete with.

I'd like to see more mini-games ideas. One thing I'm worried with is that it'd end up interfering with the actual purpose of inns, or be a big spammy distraction to other people who are just hanging out. I think this can be solved through careful design, though.
Anyway, I'm all for some inn improvements.
