Yeah, thats right.

am I the only person who isn't really going that nuts for NWN2 at the moment?
im quite excited about the single player mode. not too sure about the online features
I'm not terrifically excited. In fact, I'm a little depressed. I won't be able to play it when it comes out :(
I wont be buying it, as my lap top probably can't run it.
I expect EfU will still be around and that's all I really need when it comes to gaming.
I'll be making and creating one-shots for it, but until a server like EFU or EFU itself goes to NWN2, my online roleplaying will maintain here. Though honestly, I doubt anything in NWN2 will match EFU for several years.
I'm not excited at all.
Nor do I think I will take the time to switch... though the loss of much of our playerbase might persuade me to quit. Not sure yet.
EfU isn't going to disappear anytime soon, I'll tell you that much.
Howland EfU isn't going to disappear anytime soon, I'll tell you that much.
:)
Pshaw, everyone knows single player will blow. I'm not going to bother getting it because I don't know if my computer will run it anyway.
I will not stop playing on EfU just because of a new game.
I am with Ibe. I don't understand how something that will be the exact same amount of fun before and after NWN2 is released would suddenly be abandoned.
Consumerism in full glory, I guess!
while I have pre-ordered NWN2 and will probably be keenly playing through its OC... why should that require abandoning EFU? I'm sure I am able to balance my multiple gaming addictions.
that said... this -IS- all scheduled to happen AFTER I finish my uni work for the year... so I will have a lot more time on my hands than most people.
I agree, the online community in NWN1 is as a result of years of cultivation, and it's not going to just happen as soon as NWN2 releases.
I won't even be considering NWN2 until mid 07, unless I see it in a bargain bin somewhere
I'm in agreement with Cluckyx. I'm holding off on NWN2 until after I've seen some reviews of the game, in particular the toolset and OC. I'm going to have to upgrade my computer to play it, which I plan to upgrade in the near future, but I likely won't be picking up NWN2 until sometime early next year. (Unless, for some reason it comes out that the game is just so totally awesome that it's a must have for everyone.)
I'm going to play both.
just pre-ordered it and downloaded the tool set, it's awsom.
My NWN2 rendition of The High Moor is too sex.
I'd post pics, but your eyes would probably explode.
i managed to do that without panning or anything, still can't get the camra to move :( , any helps welcome though
Holding down your mouse wheel and moving the mouse, or holding down ctrl and then a mouse button (can't remember if it's right or left, I think right) will make the camera move.
also control + shift does some panning too, maybe rotating. There is some funny key combos for controlling the camera that I have a feeling will change.
Personally I am a graphics whore so I will buy NWN 2 and most likely love it. However I am also an RP whore so EfU will remain my friend (when I can find consitent play time  ). Hmmm ... two whores in one paragraph ... this isnt looking good. -dholt5

Yes, the game looks interesting; I will give it a try and probably play it in my spare time.
grrr. if the server hre is gonna try and use nwn2 as its new playerbase then i'll come but i think we will all remember the orignal nwn server and keep coming back ...amen
is there gunna be a EfU on NwN2, if there isnt, thanks guys, you just ruined all my possibilitys with NwN2 >.>.
If so, i think it would be the perfect example of AWESHOME! (it's 'spost to be spelt wrong) imagin, EFU2 running on NwN2, with the new feats and, (ur all gunna h8 me,) new base classes. (i kno the makers h8 me now) Also the new wepons and the new graphics, and the new *drools*
I got into this discussion last night on IRC. Again.
So I'm going to repeat what's been said by folks since NWN2 became a topic of discussion before alpha:
* I can't afford NWN2 because I simply can't afford to upgrade my computer / get a whole new one. The idea of buying a computer on credit makes as much financial sense to me as "investing" in the lottery to improve my retirement fund. So I won't be getting NWN2 for quite a while. I'm sure I'm not the only geek in this position.
* NWN2 isn't capable of supporting perpetual world servers [or at least won't be right away]. It's been discussed in better detail by geekier geeks than I, but that's the nut of it.
* EfU, like other NWN perpetual world servers, has an enthusiastic community. Our server just got upgraded, thanks to the players and DMs who could afford to kick in some moolah (and even hardware!). Our server's kicky new scripts are thanks to countless hours of dedication on the part of DMs and players alike. This isn't just going to evaporate.
* As Ibe and Metro have already pointed out, just because there's a shiney and new computer game out there doesn't mean EfU isn't fun. It just means EfU isn't as shiney and it isn't as new. Interestingly, the storytelling and roleplay on EfU will be the same collaborative high-end stuff this week as it will next week. So for any players out there who are holding out for NWN2 before they make their next "main" PC, you're in for a long, lonely wait.
Play on.

I don't find this statement to be very accurate. It's not known exactly what extents NWN2 will be pushed to to run PWs since noone's tried any whacking great big servers yet. Limits are calculated at the moment but not heavily tested. NwN was never designed to run PWs. What're we playing on now?
It will take Time, and Work but just because the current word is "people think it can't be done" doesn't mean it's true Now or in the furture.
Is NWN2 out is aussieland yet...
Feel like i've been waiting years!
16th November, I believe...
