Friends,
I've been asked, recently, to share what I've garnered of late. Much of the following then, is rumors carried to my ears and while what I share, I do not doubt the veracity of, I do accept that much of it is incomplete at best, and woefully hidden at worst
The plague - the plague seems to be the work of a likely-dead mage dedicated to Moander, the god of decay and slayer of Tyche. He crafted it in a temple located close to Mur, through the badlands approaching Traensyr. Naturally, he had a large selection of the various cures availiable as well.
The Temple is significant as, after the mage was defeated, I returned there to discover the temple broken, the gates sealed, and a portal deep within it's walls which led directly to our own sewers. It is not inconceivable that anything passing Mur - the lizardfolk, for example, coming by boat - could use this portal to attack our city.
The Lizardfolk - ah, our friends from across the Dark Sea. The Seekers and Society, I'm afraid, discounted my suggestion they may have had a hand in the plague - what better way to find a cure than release a matching illness to a more advanced city and then steal the research? - but results have shown they do have some interest. They may negotiate; however, as I've encountered them attempting to burrow beneath the Sea to take slaves, I'm quite willing to engage in strikes against them.
The Lower Side - this is something of a thorn. I've a fair reason to believe both that a misapplied guild seeks to oust another from some form of power there, and that the current ruling guild is composed of disaffected Drow from Traensyr. Frankly, given those who were said to be trying to enact the coup, this isn't a problem for the moment. What is a problem is the plague here. It spreads so quickly amongst the crowded conditions.
Canal Ward - I don't know how many of you have noticed, but another passage into the Machine has opened. This one is flooded, but with a little assistance, we should be able to look into this.
The Kuo-Toa isle - we'd get the assistance here. A ferry from Mur will carry you to one of their isles, and they have a fine supply of certain trinkets and oddities - lungroot, to allow one to breath beneath water, one of them. They may have other options to allow one to survive underwater indefinately, but I've not asked, to date.
Do reply and let me know what you know, and expand on what else you know.
