A Report for Agent Varlam of the Spellguard

As you well know, I am distributing free plague cures to those who suffer from the Rotting Death. As requested, here is a report on how I came upon these cures.

While exploring the areas surrounding Sanctuary with my former lieutenant, Kane Adamson, we came upon a drow caravan under attack by illithid only a short distance from the gates of Traensyr.

Kane remarked that it was suspicious how such a small food caravan had such a large escort. It was even more suspicious why the illithid were attacking it, so close to the drow city.

With the aid of an two Invisibility spells, we sneaked up to the undefended wagon to find out what was inside. We opened one of the boxes; it was filled with fifty white potions. Each potion had a label, which said that it cured the imbiber of the Rotting Death.

We also found a note which said that the caravan was not to reveal the nature of the potions to the commoners (and slaves) of Traensyr, for fear of a riot. Apparently, they have contracted the Rotting Death as well, but they are keeping it from the public.

Kane and I opened another box, and took out two potions, one for each of us. The rotting that we had suffered from immediately vanished. We then took the box of 50 plague cures back to Sanctuary, before anyone noticed.

We then decided to distribute the plague cures for free. Kane would handle the areas around Sanctuary, while I would handle Sanctuary itself.

It was then that I encountered you suffering from the Rotting Death. I shall stop at this point, for you already know what happened afterwards.
