Councilors,
The Society of the Ordered Mind receives no funding from the Sanctuary Council, and I thus fail to understand why we should be subject to some sort of financial audit. We have no intention of sending you any financial records.
The Society continues to work against the settlements of Chabzash and Ysinode, as well as target a number of other individual aberrant threats. If we become aware of any particular danger that immediately threatens Sanctuary, you may be certain we will share this information as we have done.
You may be assured we will continue to operate according to the agreement signed between the Society of the Ordered Mind and Mayor Yorrick Bresley.

The Council is not looking to tolerate any vague whining or unique interpretations of agreements between your Zealots and the Mayor. We are not seeking to figure out how you use what coin you manage to procur through beggary or by shifting through the ruins of buildings you manage to destroy in our fair city.
However, the Council is currently contemplating the economic uses of the building you currently inhabit and must weigh your usefulness to the city against the usefulness we can put your head quarters to immediately.
Not wishing to lose your wonderful talent or the skills of your Zealots, I've begun to scout some of the deeper locations of the Dunwarren Ruins. I'll be suggesting the Council removes your permission to use your current head quarters and moves you to another less economically viable location.
Of course, if your organization seeks to mollify that the Council's support of your Zealots through the largess of a tax free piece of prime property is actually deserved by explaining your current ongoing major operations in exquisite detail, coupled with a full report of all activities that led to the destruction of the Steady Hand, the Council is likely to halt punitive procedings beyond the level of our expression of extreme disgust for the inability of your order to comply with the laws of this land.
As it stands, the Spellguard already investigates the illithids and the beholders have not appeared to be a major threat for decades. I currently see no reason they can not handle your myriad duties and with less physical destruction of our city.
In Regards,
Sir Dungal Toboerski
