A Request for Plague Victims...

Please don't engage in griefing. I've had three people almost infect me today. Luckily, I made my fortitude saves.

The first two, I believe, did it intentionally. They ran right through my party, not caring about whether we'd get infected or not. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but that was very annoying; I had just finished distributing a batch of plague cures when this happened.

The third one, I believe, did it unintentionally. I offered him a plague cure, but he didn't take it. He then moved very close to my party, too close. I threatened to report him to the DM, but DM Howland reprimanded me for using an OOC action to stop an IC action.

Sorry DM Howland! :(

My request is simple. Stay away from those who are well. If you really want to play a psycho who wants to infect everybody, at least tell us OOC so we at least have a chance of running away. It's the same principle as telling a character OOC that you plan on going hostile with him before you go hostile.

...but DM Howland reprimanded me for using an OOC action to stop an IC action.

Sorry DM Howland!

Something tells me you're not really sorry, just by the fact that you posted this.

DEAL WITH IT IN CHARACTER!

plzkthx?

It's perfectly IC. Handle it through IC methods, would be my suggestion.

It's annoying, yes. And in reality, if someone purposely tried to infect me with a deadly disease I'd probably be quite pissed off at them.

Take my own character, someone carelessly walked right by him and infected him. He followed them both and threatened to kill them after he demanded coin for a cure. To me, it'd be perfectly IC to beat the snot out of someone who infected you with a disease, for Mormont, it might even be IC for him to flat out kill someone.

Beg, plead, threaten, have all of your fellow party members draw ranged weapons and shoot him if he comes too close, etc. It would be part of the psychological cycle of someone who's just been infected with what could be a lethal disease to feel a bit of rage and hostility towards those lucky enough to avoid it, and some less morally inclined characters might be willing to spread it to others in their frustration.

Yup, definetely something you need to deal with IC. No OOC tells to people are obligatory either, if you want to infect them. Just have some solid IC reasoning for doing so.

Study the purpose of EfU, Argent Gish. Understand the concept and the conventions and the "netiquette" of playing here, then make posts on the forums, and keep them as spartan as possible and in the corresponding forums, instead of filling up general discussions with loads and loads of threads about the same subject, or subjects that don't require discussion, or subjects you attempt to discuss on grounds that aren't considered grounds here on EfU.

This is a strictly IC matter and must be handled in game. It has no place on the OOC general discussion forums and that has been made clear now by several people.

Locking, and please make sure you've a good reason that isn't just valid in your head, but valid on EfU before making assertions, requests or suggestions.

Thanks.
